As Williamsburg's population switches over from three-to-a-room artists to three-bedroom-owning yuppies, pricier restaurants are bound to follow. However, this rustic Italian trattoria reaches out to both camps: Its black-and-white checkerboard floor, brick walls and thick wood tables look more like the decor you'd find in swanky brownstone Brooklyn, but the unpretentious staff and low prices ensure large crowds of bargain-hunting hipsters. feels like home

it's not easy in new york to find true Italian food at competitive prices but Fiore has got it all, my husband and have been regulars since the opened 1 year ago. The owners are always very friendly, the cook is a fish genius. The pizza is so think and tasty that you could easily eat 3 of them and go on with pasta. The neighborhood is only getting better and better !
Not as good as when it opened
by tpersis at Citysearch
I had a great lamb chop here when it first opened, an entire large party was satisfied.
However, when I back with some friends, something was lacking. I was served the fish special, which seemed like the fish to get rid of. They squeezed lemon on it and threw some vegetables on the side and it just seemed like I could do something just as good (and simple at home). None of us were very happy with our meal, and we canceled future birthday plans there because of our mediocre experience. Another Williamsburg restaurant gets too comfortable.
- Pros: prices, wine list
- Cons: food not as good as when it opened
