This Williamsburg restaurant's big windows and corner location make for prime hipster-gawking, but the inside is pleasantly grown-up. Brick archways and a stone floor crisscrossed with wood lure an earthy, low-key crowd, while rainbow-hued iron lanterns add some festive color. Waiters are unfailingly friendly, even if they bear the overeagerness of a neighborhood spot hungry for a regular crowd. Miranda's menu dances back and forth between Italian and Mexican cuisine like a flirty guest at a U.N. ball, but luckily avoids overdoing the whole fusion theme. Some highlights include the arancicni (risotto flecked with spinach and chorizo and fried up into a crusty golf-ball shape) and the mole poblano pappardelle.

The food here is consistently delicious and well prepared. For appetizers, I've had the homemade pasta, which is prepared differently depending on the menu and season and an empanada with greens, raisins, and cheese. I've always ordered whatever fish is on the menu, which is prepared with seasonable vegetables (most recently kale and a vegetable and lentil mix) and is always perfectly seasoned and cooked. The amount of food always leaves me feeling full but not overly stuffed. The service is extremely professional, attentive, and friendly. I also really like that there has never been a wait (the restaurant is never empty, but it's never packed) and that it is a good place to go if you want good food and to talk to your dinner companions.

We have come here several times and each time we tried something new and it has exceeded our expectations. The owner greets us immediately and he is kind and patient. The food is outstanding and the wine list is very good and reasonable priced. The setting is cozy and intimate and the value of the food is ideal! I highly recommend coming here. It is well worth anyone's time and money.
