home cooking like mom's. Ok, so I read comments from yelp and some other sites and decided to try the place for myself. It is AWESOME. Really. It is truly like going home to mom or even grandmother's house. Portions are massive and really good. Price can't be beat in the Burg. This place is on my top 5 return list for sure.
Home-cooked deliciousness. Home-cooked deliciousness. When you want some home-style meatloaf, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, rotisserie chicken or pork, nobody does it better than Peter's. The portions are HUGE here, so I've always been to scared to go near the place at lunch. You really will want to share with someone else. Specials all week, some value drink specials on draft beer too. Cozy little spot and there's rarely a wait.
Great Place.
Want some home cooking without the pain of cooking it yourself? GO to Peter's Since 1969! The best homestyle cooking I've had since eating Sunday dinners at mom's. The food is excellent and within minutes after you order, you are sitting and eating. There was so much food that I had to take some home... and I was still full. Wow. I want more.
Good food, excellent service, nice music, clean place and nice bathrooms... what more can you ask.
WORST service BAD food. Seriously, the owner has a serious attitude problem, insulting her patrons, the people working the counter are in a cloud, and the food made my friend and I seriously sick. I'm considering calling the department of health, they probably don't wash their hands and use poor hygiene in the kitchen ... Who knows ... On top of that they are absolutely rude. Go anywhere but here - one of the worst in Williamsburg.
Great Chicken Rotisserie!. As a new addition to the neighborhood, I had to check out Peter's. It was no disappointment either. The chicken rotisserie was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. The chicken seemed to melt in your mouth it was so soft and those sides......I will have to keep coming back so I can try everything. It truley is a great addition to the neighborhood!
Casual Williamsburg comfort food spot serves up made-from-scratch meals that won't break the bank..
In Short
Like an upscale Boston Market, Peter's Since 1969 serves up hearty portions of classic comfort food for very reasonable prices. This is serious food, however, overseen by Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef Omri Magal. Named for former owner Peter Kuper, who ran a butcher shop in the space since, you guessed it, 1969, the restaurant serves up mains like rotisserie chicken, beef stew and sausage with sides like mac and cheese, sautéed spinach and yellow rice. The faux-rustic restaurant is deceptively large, as it contains not only a hidden-away back room but also an outdoor patio.
