Great Lingerie and excellent service

This is the kind of shop where I can really get in trouble because there are tons of delicate/beautiful/sexy numbers that I fall in love with every time I wander in. Last time I lusted over a 1950s inspired gown that made me feel like Betty Page. (I will be back to get you, gown!) Also being in there is kinda fun in itself, there's lots of girl talk and boy advice and fashion discussion between the owner and me and the other customers, its relaxed and fun and there's never pressure to buy. Oh, and she does special orders which is great for me because I'm a bit of a special size.

I am still shocked by how I was treated...

I have never felt so compelled to write a bad review as I do after my experience at Brooklyn Fox today. I am an avid supporter of many of the boutiques along Bedford Ave. (Mini-mini Market and PinkyOtto are faves) and the surrounding area but will never return to this shop again. I went in excited and ready to buy some new lingerie for my boyfriend's visit next weekend and walked out feeling the most insulted that I ever have in my life. I went in on a Saturday afternoon but it was dead. The owner was sitting at the register and there was a salerack blocking her view of the front of the store. I had a large bag with me from other shopping I had done that afternoon but she never requested that I leave it with her while I was looking around. Anyone who has been in this store before knows that it is kind of cramped, so when I was walking around my bag bumped into some of the merchandise. The owner suddenly jumped up and accused me of putting something in my shopping bag. Dumbfounded, all I could say was, "Excuse me?" She claimed that she clearly saw me steal something and put it in my bag. In an effort to clear my name I immediately showed her the belongings in my bag and purse. Rather than offer any sort of sincere apology, she just gave me a half-assed "oh, sorry" and then SHE became defensive. Completely shocked, I walked out of the store confused as to what had just happened. I then decided to go back to discuss the matter with her with the hope of some sort of redemption that would make me ever want to return to her shop again. After all, I have worked retail before and know that sometimes you just have a bad day and you accidentally take it out on a customer. I totally would have accepted an, "I'm really sorry but there has just been a lot of theft lately," or an "I'm so sorry but I'm just having a really bad day and I do apologize." Did I get anything remotely similar to that? Absolutely not. I was just confronted by more rudeness. I am still completely confused about what transpired this afternoon and why she thought it was good business practice to treat a potential customer in such a manner. It's a good thing that this is New York and there are a million other amazing places to buy beautiful lingerie because I will never, EVER go back to this store again.
- Pros: I did not have the opportunity to find any.
- Cons: Um, employees who falsely accuse customers of theft.

Great friendly service and really nice new store! The selection is mostly high end, and really beautiful. This store idea is a long time coming to Williamsburg. Finally!
