The Situation Sucks at Mulsuckland's.
So I decided to give the neighborhood sports bar a second chance. It was opening night for college football and the final round of preseason NFL games and more importantly couldn't find the game I wanted to watch online.
To say I was disappointed the first time I had been would be to say New York has a lot of people. It sucked on ice with a paper parasol and oversized slice of pineapple. But I am not above giving somewhere a 2nd chance.
Thankfully they had the game, though sadly I had a big stinky beer. Not some crappy domestic but a quality Belgium that I was excited to see on tap. Evidence that their tap lines aren't cleaned or cleaned poorly which can lead to an unpleasant morning on the toilet at best or a day clinging to it at worst.
Far, far worse they were blaring of 'Jersey Shore' over the bar loudspeaker.
Bad enough that they'd actually devote a TV to this poison but to also then make everyone in the bar listen to it. And listen loudly. It was genuinely distracting how painfully loud it was. Physically and mentally. I believe I actually became dumber in the few minutes I was subjected to that vacuous pit of televised torture.
Fail.
i missed my game. I read about this bar and asked a few friends who said they had really bad experiences here, but i didn't want to go into the city to see Minnesota play Texas in the NCAA tournament (first round). First, it took like 10 minutes to get a drink even because the bartender was talking to some guys at the far end of the bar. Then when we asked him to put the game on it took him another 10 minutes to do it, even though the game had started!!!! Then he said the game was on after putting in the channel even though my buddy and i kept telling him that he'd put in the wrong channel. He asked us if we ran a sports bar and to shut up since we didn't. We apologized (although i don't know why?) and he told us that the game wasn't on. He was wrong, my buddies saw it in the city. Which is where i'll go next time. You'd think a sports bar would care about you seeing your game. By the way, it's really filthy behind their bar.
My best friend's birthday party.... Recently we decided to have a surprise party at Mulholland's for my best friend. He is a huge sports fan and we thought that Mulholland's would be ideal. Needless to say it was a great experience overall.. Booking the party was easy they were very accomodating. We all gathered in the backyard to surprise him and he had absolutely no idea...the look on his face was priceless! After eating tons of wings and sliders (which ended up being the perfect amount of food and really really good) we proceeded by celebrating with a ridiculous amount of shots. I definitely paid for it the next day. I think I may have even danced on the bar! Haha!!! We'll definitely never forget Al's birthday! We'll be back next weekend!!!!!!
God this place is horrible.
If the combination for your favorite bar / restaurant is one part rude, bigoted staff with one part bland food and horrible service, this is your ideal bar. Me? I'll never set food in there again.
Also- just a heads up, but 8 of the 4/5 star comments on here were left by the owners to drum up business.
Best little Sports Bar in Brooklyn. This place is a gem! I stumbled upon Mulholland's with some girlfriends during the olympics and have been a fan ever since. It has the best bar food in Brooklyn along with the best cocktail menu I've ever layed eyes on at a sports bar. Not only is it the place to be in Williamsburg for ALL televised sports events its also super chill to catch up with friends on non sports days and indulge in some shepherd's pie or a hot toddy...did I mention they have a beautiful fireplace??!! ps. the brunch here is heavenly....yum : )
GREAT TIMES. This place has not only great food and drink selection but also great staff. Perfect for watching the games with all the tv's your surrounded by. Comfortable couches and a great outdoor setting. Mulholland's the way to go!
Great Food, Perfect for NCAA Basketball, Football, St Patty's Day, anytime..
This place is a much needed additition to the neighborhood. The TV's (both indoor and out) coupled with 20+ beers on tap, good eats including GREAT WINGS and good burgers top of the best place to watch anything, also The music selection has improved as of late due to a new set of playlists I have noticed.
-love it.
hope you do too.
GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE......GREAT VARIETY...GREAT FOOD. Mulholland's Yeah. A place for sports and politics. I had been in a few times with friends to watch a game. But on debate night I happened by and was surprised to see that Mulholland's was accomodating both. They had gone out of their way to put on the debate for a large group that was in for solely that reason. And yet still kept their regulars happy with the baseball game that night. Food was awesome. (Especially the Shephard's pie). And they had an outdoor tv in the backyard for the few of us smokers still left. Cute bartenders and accomodation. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!
It was like I clicked my ruby slippers, opened my eyes...THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE MULLHOLLANDS!!!.
Oh Mulhollands...
There is no way you can walk into this place and not be made to feel instantly at home. SO comfortable in fact there is a cozy fireplace in the back...I like to go early and snatch up the couches right infront of it, so I'll race you there!! And if you'd like to enjoy the brisk winter air, or a smoke you can just head right out back through the french doors to the garden patio...what, perfect!! The bartenders couldn't be nicer and the food is off the chain...everything's always really fresh and really yummy. They are not f'in around in the kitchen. Mulhollands is a gem of a back home hot spot, right at home here in Williamsburg. Thanks Mulholland for filling the void!! U rock and we love you!!
