In Short – Oversized cushions, potted palms and a marigold color palette infuse this Crown Heights cafe with good vibes. A low-key crowd sates itself on veggie panini and soy lattes during the afternoon; later in the evening a more serious dinner menu combines the cuisines of Asia and the Caribbean. Jerked eel is one of the more intriguing spins, but there also less adventuresome basics like steamed chicken skewers with ginger scallion sauce, and coconut curry shrimp served with hot roti bread.

Great food, great vibes, great potential

Saje is quickly becoming a neighborhood staple for me.
Delicious Asian-Caribbean food served by attentive waiters, a tropical-themed atmosphere and a jam-packed schedule of special live-music and spoken-word events -- this place puts the "home" in homey. It even offers free Wi-Fi!
The mango iced tea is a must on sweltering summer days, as is the gourmet mango-cream cake. The jazz brunch is to die for -- plenty of light omeletes, sweet fruit sides, pancakes and such.
The newly added bar offers just about everything you can imagine, even some popular top-shelf liquors.
Saje is a fantastic for a couples' night out ... or dinner with the family. It's a small restaurant but they will do their best to accomodate a larger group.
Service can be a bit slow at times but it's definitely worth the wait.

- Cons: good service ... it can just be a a little slow.
