What Our Expert Scouts Say

The Brooklyn Kitchen
March 11, 2013

With a fun selection of vintage kitchen tools and high-end new gagdets, SCRATCHbread delivered daily, classes in the beautiful sun-filled kitchen, and instructional videos online about shucking oysters and sabering champagne, Brooklyn Kitchen is an excellent local resource. The store has grown as Williamsburg has grown and matured, moving from a smaller spot and adding more tools and classes. The space is shared with The Meat Hook, the best butcher in Williamsburg.

This place is a fine kitchen store that happens to have one of the best butcher shops in NYC, The Meat Hook, inside it. The pork and beef are of varying quality but look out for the incredible specialty sausages, which are truly unique.

Best Knives at Brooklyn Kitchen. I just read Knives 101 with Adam Simha of Brooklyn Kitchen on the Behind the Burner website.

Editorial Review. This Williamsburg purveyor of high-end cookware, tableware and kitchen appliances also offers classes in everything from baking pies to butchering pigs.

GREAT CLASSES. I took the Kombucha class here a few weeks ago and it was awesome!

Very informative, and everyone went home with the tools wee needed to make our own. This place is perfect if you are looking for an alternative to higher priced cooking classes. I just really wish that they had classes more frequently! Has a nice neighborhood vibe.
