I LOVE THIS PLACE!. Sugs is great! The DJ plays all the hits and drinks are ideally priced. The attitude is friendly and enjoyable and they have a smoking area upstairs. Definitely a great place if you want a gay bar out of the city with a fun feel to it. Sassy dosen't work well here (trust me I try it)

Yeah Sugarland!. I disagree with the editor's review. I have fun every time I go to Sugarland (even the "off-nights").

I love his place!

DJ Emjay and Basic Black on Saturday nights, Ernie's Friday night parties, Monday night karaoke night and the underwear party on Wednesdays- all great, fun!

Thanks Troy (Basic Black) for giving us another awesome hot spot in Williamsburg!

Hipster Friendly. Not your typical scene... lots of hipster types and artsy people. Not Chelsea or HK crowd at all.

Williamsburg's queer scene gets a boost as the owners of Metropolitan unveil this theatrical gathering space.. In Short
A seductive newcomer in Williamsburg sweetens the pot for gay-friendly locals. Moody strains of disco house tunes lure fashion students inside to show off their hemlines, while tattooed bar-boys in hot pants do Red Stripe honors. A hand-carved saloon-style bar and outdoor smoking deck caked in graffiti (both relics from former tenant, the late dive Capone's) give the feel of a well-worn neighborhood hangout, but Sugarland's agenda is more ambitious: its art performances and celebrity DJs are drawing downtown luminaries and club kids from across the pond.

Hits: The outdoor smoking deck sets the scene for heavy flirting.

Misses:
Off nights during the week are best avoided, and drunken frat boys still pop in looking for Capone's free pizza.
