One of the Best in NYC.
I like to consider myself a sushi expert, since i have been eating sushi for over 8 years and have visited almost all sushi restaurants in the city. Lemme tell you Kyoto is different from all other sushi spots, not only is the sushi delicious and made with love but its different. Their rolls differ and monthly they have 2-3 new special rolls for you to try, i just cant wait until the new month comes and i can try one of their new inventions, and i have never been let down by one, they are all delicious. Like the poster above though ill say what my usual order consists of.
Spicy Crunchy Combo for 12 buchs you get 3 spicy crunchy rolls, they alone will fill you up lol i kid you not.
i usual combine this with one or two special rolls, any of them are delish but i prefer the Alaskan Maki or shrimp dragon roll, and i also order one of their special rolls of the month.
and i end it with an order of Lobster roll or Spicy Scallop, delicious delicious delicious.
I end this by stopping at one of the many liquor stores around greenpoint and buy me a bottle of Sake or a good bubbly. Cheers and long live Kyoto Sushi.
A gem of Diamond St. I'd really like to know what "andreak5"ordered when he or she patronized Kyoto. I live in Greenpoint and I love this place. It is definitely the best sushi in the area and unlike every other place, I have yet to be disappointed. Their Shrimp Dragon roll is the best roll I've ever had. There, see? I actually named a dish I ordered. Isn't that helpful? Anyone could go into Kyoto, start chumping on a handful of napkins and write a review saying "Yeah, I went here and I almost threw up." I think if you're going write a bad review at least say what you ate. I usually don't write reviews myself, but I don't want to take any chances of my favorite sushi place losing business or, god forbid, ever closing. Viva Kyoto!
My favorite sushi - best around the city.. My favorite sushi place hands down. I come here religiously and look forward to the friendly service, great food and great prices. I love everything about this place and I hope it never ever ever closes down.
Editorial Review by Erin Behan. Clean, crisp Japanese restaurant with a blue neon-lit sushi bar serves a lengthy list of sushi, sashimi and rolls, plus hot entrees and monthly specials.
