yuk. They recently renovated and it looks great. I was never impressed with their pizza, and decor before was yuk. They renovated a lot. Love the inside decor but the food still sucks and now they do breakfast? would be great if was better. Please renovate the food.
A Favorite For Slices. This place has one of my favorite walk-in slices in Brooklyn. I also highly recommend trying the sicilian and grandma slices. Some people thought the pizza was great at the same place before it closed and was taken over by new management but I think the food has gotten considerably better, not to mention the atmosphere. It's also cheaper than most other pizzerias in the area. It's also open late which is a big plus for someone who lives in Greenpoint. Definitely worth a try.
This tiny Greenpoint take-out pizza place with a funny name serves up slices and pies at rock-bottom prices..
In Short
There are many good things about living in a less-gentrified section of town. One of them is cheap pizza, and Schmook's delivers with $1.50 plain slices and only a half-dollar add-on for toppings. The small space's red and white tile floor gives off the appropriate pizza parlor vibe and the few tables allow for a handful of eat-ins. Beyond the plain, Sicilian and specialty pies, there's calzones, salads, heroes, meatball and sausage subs and garlic knots.
