Would not recommend this place. The waiter messed up our order twice, we waiter for each dish for about 20-30 minutes, the portions are very small and the quality of food is not what you expect for the money you pay. We ordered mousse de perigord that was served with dry bread and no butter, nothing special for $30. Salad Montrachet was good, lobster ravioli was good too but we got only 5 pieces. Entrees took forever, branzini was nothing special with too much garlic, foie gras usually a small dish, here it was extra small, NY strip steak was good portion and tasted ok, but since they messed up our order and by the time they brought it out 30 min later everyone else had finished their entrees. After we ordered dessert we waited another 30 min fot apple strudel to be served and by that time coffee was long finished....The bill was $300 for party of 4, and that took them few seconds to bring out.
It is tasty. Fine service. Thanks.
Great Meal! – This is one of the best meals we've had in a long time! I don't understand how anyone could give it less than 5 stars. Le Bouchon does a nice job of capturing authentic French fusion flavors with a modern twist. Everything was very fresh. I had shrimp soup & sashimi salad. My husband had portobello fromage & rack of lamb.
Aside from the delicious food, the atmosphere inside was amazing! I loved the wine wall and all the candles.
We loved it so much that we're coming back in a few weeks!
They ruined my anniversary. – Called on April 13th to make a reservation for 6PM, April 21st and no problems. On the 21st, I called at 5:40PM to check which credit cards were accepted, & was told that they were booked solid for the evening. I said, no problem, I have a reservation. They said that neither my phone # or name were among those who had reservations for the evening, and there was nothing they could do. And with that, Le Bouchon ruined my wedding anniversary, and we ended walking up and down Emmon's Ave to find a restaurant for our anniversary dinner. But, no skin off THEIR backs, right? Moral: If you make a reservation with these jerks, call often to make sure that somebody actually wrote it down.
Below average. – Le Bouchon is a restaurant with French name and Russian speaking stuffers, manager, servers and musicians. I was invited on August 20, 2011 to my friend 60 year jubilee party. The room where party took place was too tight and small for number of guests invited. I could hardly squeeze myself between guests chairs and the wall in order to reach my seat. I literally rubbed my suit between the wall and chairs, sucked my belly in, and asked elder people to budge their chair in order to go to my seat. Eventually restaurant manager should not have accepted the contract for so many people for such a small room and should have denied party order for that number of guests, but greed, probably, took over. The number of plates for the given meal served was too few for the given number of guests. Almost for every meal and entr
Place for Romance – I took my wife here for our anniversary. The candles, fireplace, and sax playing in the background set the mood. We got a nice bottle of semi-dry Merlot. Very reasonably priced. For appetizers we ordered their famous crab cakes... excellent choice. I got hanger steak and my wife got pan-seared branzini. We had a great time.
Definitely The BEST in Brooklyn! – We have been to this restaurant many times & have never been disappointed. The head chef is always in the kitchen & both steaks and fish are perfectly prepared. For a restaurant of this class the prices are not out of line. The atmosphere is elegant, cozy, and a great place for a special evening.
I'd look elsewhere – Even though the menu had plentiful options, many of those were not available, don't know whether it's poorly managed, or meant to lead you towards specific dishes, but having more than 3 items on the menu not available is a little shabby as it forces you to settle. Mixed drinks do not exist in this place, cranberry and vodka is as complicated as it gets, but at least they know they can't mix and don't even try. Prices were on the high side for the area, which is probably the reason why the restaurant was empty. Prices were reasonable if you expect steakhouse prices. Crab cakes were a little fishy, asparagus was flavorfull, wasabi mashed potatoes were delicious, Porterhouse steak was good, however as we shared the steak we both came to agreement that most of the steak was cooked medium well, whereas we order medium. Nevertheless the steak was devoured as it was delicious. Even though i particularly don't care for the type of entertainment which the restaurant presented most of our party seemed to enjoy it. The entertainment was Russian / E. European music mix of dance and slow songs, the singers were probably the better of most i've heard in Russian restaurants. The entertainment did not work well as i did not expect this restaurant to be a Russian restaurant.
Just Amazing! – I’ve heard this restaurant was acquired by new owners. Having eaten there a little over a year ago, I wanted to see for myself if any changes were made. Well let me tell you... I was completely blown away by the décor, lever of service and most importantly food. For appetizers, we had asparagus soups, mushroom truffle salad, and duck spring rolls, which were all out of this world. Not much I can say about the entrees. I’ve eaten in many fine dining restaurants, but this porterhouse was in a league of its own. It literally melted in my mouth. I guess you can tell when a real steak is aged for a month. My girlfriend had bouillabaisse. The aroma and freshness of the seafood was remarkable. We got a bottle of Merlot which the waiter recommended. It was reasonably priced and really complemented our meal. I definitely recommend this place. All in all, we had a very special evening. It’s evident that the ownership really put a great deal of effort into restoring this restaurant to its now well-deserved reputation. Oh, they also have live music on the weekends and paired with various banquet menus, I’m quite certain we will celebrate my upcoming birthday here!
Best food in Brooklyn, if not NY – I have been to the W Restaurant twice over the last month or so, and have been pleasantly surprised on both occasions. Restaurant is under new ownership as I found out, and everything about the food is superb. Wine list is very extensive, great selection. Appetizers are for various tastes, but tuna tartar is definitely my favorite. I tried fish, which I liked, but the steak is out of this world, it would give the best steak houses a run for its money. I will definitely be back, just hope food and service stay on that high level
