Keeps getting better and better! – The salon keeps getting nicer and nicer (they're renovating), the staff is great, been going to Charlie for over 15 years, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
i recently had my hair colored at spin and the results were terrible i was not satisfied at all, so i called to try and get it fixed they couldn't take me cause they seemed to be booked solid and told me to call on tuesday to reschedule, so that's what i did and then they told me they were closed for renovations and they would re-open the following week so i had to get my color fixed elsewhere i would not recommend anyone going to this place they are rude, dont like to fix there mistakes so unprofessional with the prices they charge they should be a little bit more accommodating
Great cuts, and great service............. – I have been going to Spin for almost 5 years. I love it there! I always referr my friends & family to go to Spin. It is a great little place! The staff is awesome! I am very surprised to read all of these other negative reviews that people wrote about Spin!! From my personal experience, none of the stuff that they wrote is true!!!!! The stylists at Spin never just give you any haircut that they just want to do ,they always listen to what i want and communicate well!! Now that I think of it , these could just be reviews from competitors or people unfimiliar with the salons brand.Either way im always pleased at spin, for the quality and price you should at leaste give it a try.
Won't be back – I went here after moving to the area for a trim. I walked in an instantly was made to feel "not cool enough" to be there. Like I'm not cool enough because I don't have a half-layered hipster mullet like Christian on Project Runway. Anyways, I have a normal layered bob, which is a style I've had for years. When I asked for a trim, the guy cutting my hair told me my hair isn't the type that would respond well to a layed bob and proceeded to give me a non-layed page boy hair cut like Maude Lebowski from the Big Lebowski. Not even close to what I asked for. After all that, he charged me $90 for a hair cut I didn't even want.
All is all, I haven't been back and wouldn't go back. Just didn't feel welcome and it wasn't worth the price. I mean, I can go to Lush and get a cut and color for $115-- why would I go here for a $90 haircut that may or may not even be what I asked for?
WORST SALON IN NYC – I have never been treated so poorly in any salon I have ever been in! Usually snotty service and being ignored at least mean a good haircut & color but not in this case... I was horrified by the results and when I asked to speak to the manager was forced to wait 45 minutes... DO NOT ATTEMPT!!! WORST SALON IN THE CITY!!!!
** By the way, they write their own good reviews so don't believe any of the good ones!!
Poor customer service – Very cold and unfreindly atmosphere and receptionist ! No connection with the client, awful rock music , very loud. People havent got the clue how to run a business. However very happy with my haircut , only was very supriced that my hair havent been washed before styling just dampen in the water !!!! Very bad experience. Have to work on there customer service ! Very poor !
Best trendy color in Bay Ridge........... – I recently have gone to Spin for my first time to get my hair cut & colored. Chad had done my haircut, and Jasmine did my highlights. I normally do my color in Manhattan and pay two times the price. I really loved my hair. I didn't even have to tell them what I wanted.... they just just knew my style. I loved this place, because it wasn't your typical bay ridge salon. The atmosphere was a great vibe. The receptionist Lisa was very helpful & very friendly with me. She was helpful in getting me in for the right appointment time, and everyone there was especially nice. The experience was like being on vacation from Bay Ridge. I loved the dunkin donuts munchkins that they served me. I will be telling all of my friends about Spin.
Great Place – I have had nothing but a great experience each and everytime I was here... They are trendy and chic..I have had the pleasure of having Christine work with me... I would go back to her in a minute... The manager Lisa was wonderful and accomadating..its nice to go somewhere and actually be taken the time of your appt. Having Lisa there is definately a great idea..she is wonderful and friendly and made my visit pleasant...The best part is...they are dog friendly and love when she comes in with me...My dog loves it too!!
Thanks Spin you stand out from the rest...I hope everyone else in Bay Ridge has the pleasure of getting their hair done with confidence in your Salon!!
NOT OPEN SUNDAY – NOT open Sunday. NOT. And they need to stop advertising otherwise. Nothing like taking a Friday off work for a consultation, then attempting to make an appointment for the only day of the week that I'm regularly available for hair styling only to be told "What? We're not open Sunday. Who told you that?"
NOT FOR ME!! – I had my first experience with Spin a few months ago. I read all the review, and the salon seemed to be the one that fitted me. I walked into a very, cold atmosphere. The receptionist (sorry, didn't catch her name), was the most unfriendly person that I have ever met. No personality whatsoever, and very cold. I don't remember the girl that colored my hair (her name may have been Christine), but she happened to be very sweet. She did a wonderful job on my color, as well as the girl that cut my hair.
I went back for a "touch-up" weeks later. When I got the bill, I almost fell off my chair. It wa $75.00 just for a touch-up. I think that is totally outrageous. For that kind of money, they should have a coffee machine and/or tea.
Because of the cold atmosphere, prices, and the unfriendly receptionist, I definately will not be going back there.
