Hardly worth my scorn. I'm assuming this place is an ironic tribute to the overrated Bowery Ballroom. I only went here to see this really great underground band that you've probably never heard of. I wouldn't go back unless another of my favorite unknown bands played here too because the staff is sub-par, the drinks are hit or miss depending on the bartender's mood, and the sound quality is mediocre at best.

Acoustically One Of The Best. I think MHW is probably one of the better places to see a show in the city. The acoustics are fantastic and venue itself is nice. I love it when the venue is only half full, it makes seeing shows so much more intimate.

I'll never forget the 2010 show I saw with yim yames and the new orleans preservation jazz band...best concert ive ever seen.

don't go here unless you really love the band. The staff here is really unprofessional. I went here for Primal Scream over a week ago. I was on the band's guest list. We missed the first two songs because I had to wait in a line that went all the way past Public Assembly. despite this, there was only one guy checking the list and giving tickets. The band started playing while there was still a huge line out front.

Then I ordered drinks downstairs and this b*tchy girl bartender was super slow in serving us and refilling even though there was only a few people at the bar. Then she shorted my friend on a double whiskey (he's tended bar he knows) and I asked her to top it off. She gave me a snippy answer, so asked her if she was having a bad day. So I asked for the bill and didn't tip. Then she went to the bouncers and asked that they flag me and my two friends. Keep in mind I wasn't raving or anything. All I did was ask her for a decent drink. Yeah, avoid this place unless you really, really dig the band.

I'll be back soon. I love that Brooklyn has it's own version of Bowery Ballroom. The sound is great, a bar on every level and the staff was quick and attentive. It even has stadium seating in the back of the top balcony to allow for better viewing from above! The old grain belt marquee is an especially great touch outside. A perfect place to watch a show.

More Than Disappointed..... I've been to a lot of disappointing music venues lately, but this one takes the cake.

I was at the Crystal Castles show on New Years Eve and was sorely, sorely disappointed. They had two bartenders working (on new years eve!!!), the coat check line took over an hour to get through after the show, someone had thrown up in the bathroom and it was left uncleaned for a good 4 hours, the acoustics weren't that great, the lead singer's microphone didn't work for 20 minutes of the show and no one attended to it, and the bouncers got violent and sexist with a girl half their size who seemingly did nothing.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They might have some decent bands coming in, but decent or not, their management and staff are AWFUL!

Crystal Castles played a terrible, short, and drunken show too.

If I could get my money back, I would.

I didn't know McDonald's started a Music Venue!?. I recently went to North6, now Music Hall of WIlliamsburg, for the first time since the face-lift.

I thought i had inadvertently discovered a worm-hole and transported myself to the Bowery Ballroom. Every single architectural feature is a copy, no, rip off of the Bowery's set up; the bar, seating arrangement, even the bathroom.

I won't deny that Music Hall still has a great booker and the sound system is much improved but I still want to Karate Chop whoever was responsible for making a true Brooklyn music venue into a cheap Chinatown Prada knockoff.

I realize its the same owner, but for god's sake, tap into the pool of talented artists in the neighborhood and come up with something original.

This vibrant concert hall adds another notch to Williamsburg's rock-star-studded belt.. In Short
A slick makeover has washed away most traces of the old Northsix, but this Brooklyn music hall still blends right in with the hood. Exposed drywall and concrete lend the industrial space some loft-party cred, and the indie rock lineup is perfectly pitched to locals living within earshot. The revamped layout includes three bars on separate levels, an elevated main stage, and U-shaped upper tier with balcony views. Downstairs, leather couches and an illuminated amber bar anchor a subdued hangout where music bloggers swap industry dirt between sets.

Hits: Acoustics--the sound system will give you a full-body high.

Misses: Although tickets are sold at the door, advance tickets are not sold on-site; fans should hit up the box office at Mercury Lounge to avoid being turned away from a sold-out show.
