In Short – Perhaps no business takes Fort Greene's environmental sensibilities to heart quite like this cafe. The thick moldings, church pews and ballasts that overload the space were rescued from Washington Square Park's "Peace Church." About 95 percent of the ingredients in the juices, smoothies and sandwiches are organic and from local farms. Forget V-8, hardcore veggies have the green power smoothie, which is $7.50. The commitment to sustainability extends to the packaging, which is all biodegradable.
I love it!!!

The service used to be lacking, some of the staff was even rude on occasion (they are gone now)- I agree with those reviews. BUT... All of that is in the past! I am so grateful that our adorable little hood has this yummy juice bar. I go there all the time. The new staff is super friendly (Eric and that other Spanish speaking guy whose name evades me - they are really wonderful and generous souls) and the chai is delish. I am trying not to eat all those delectable muffins and treats because it's that time of year, you know?
Anyway, I highly recommend the brazil nut chai, tempeh sandwich, muffins, and the tropical smoothie. And I recommend that you stop by there!!
- Pros: delicious food
- Cons: sometimes there is a line
Great Menu, Appalling Service

The coffee is out of this world, as are the juices and smoothies. I also love the sandwiches and freshly baked wheat free muffins and cookies.
But I will not go there anymore because I am tired of being treated as though I am invading someone's personal space.
Which is too bad because I am the kind of person who will go out of her way to support local sustainable businesses, even if it means that it costs me a bit more.
- Pros: Well made vegetarian food which actually tastes good!
- Cons: The people who work their either hate their job or their fellow human beings. Hard to tell.
Greatest food; very customer friendly

You can smell their baked goods from blocks away. Walked in there one cold day with a bad cold - staff immediately offered sympathy and a hot ginger lemon drink they called a cold buster. Then I had a bowl of root vegetable soup and a home made jam cookie. Both were excellent, especially the cookie (not too sweet). Amazing, creative menu, locally grown. All in all - Super good food and very friendly service. A lot of people were in there that day - they make everything fresh so it takes time, but they seem to be learning how to handle the crowds. You should go in just to see how the place is designed - all the wood work is recycled from an old church. Tables are made of old blackboards. They get their electricity from wind power and try to do the right thing with everything. Organic all the way, and fabulous. Thoughtful, home made food thats good 4 you. Clean, fresh and homey atmosphere. Go find this place!
- Pros: Quality of food; flavor; friendly staff
- Cons: Parking hard to find
