Deplorable. This is absolutely barbaric practice serving a fully roasted dead pig (head and all) and I am disgusted that Citysearch would even profile such a place. Just awful.

best outdoor venue, awesome music, great location. I go to a lot of shows in the northeast area and nothing compares to The Yard's rustic yet homey feel. It feels untouched. That's why I love it. Yes, you can find a whole lotta hipsters here, but where aren't you going to run into hipsters in Brooklyn?!

People seem to have a strong stigma towards The Yard just because they hear its right next to the Gowanus Canal, but honestly I have yet to smell anything putrid or completely unbearable. I actually prefer canal water than someone's really horrible B.O. all holed up in a tiny club/venue.

This place is awesome because everything is reasonable; the space, the ticket & drink prices, the location. The yard seems to really embrace local talent and the community embraces them back.

Chilled out summer scene. With the weather getting warmer I can think of only one place that blew my mind last year so thoroughly that I've just gotta make it my permanent hangout this year. I know that this season's first event at the Yard is coming soon on May 24th. And if its anything like last summer... it'll be another season of ear-blasting tunes, liquor-soaked conversations at the picnic tables in the shade and a veritable cultural explosion in a locale where it seems trees and green grass have found a place to thrive amidst the concrete jungle and industrial wasteland that envelope the outlying area. An oasis in the asphalt desert for sure.
