LOVE the salon, staff, and the products – I recently moved to park slope, and tried out salon harmony at the advice of a friend. I loved it! The people were so friendly, very professional, young, and modern. Very attentive to my needs (they offer mimosas, water, iced coffee, anything i want) and were very considerate of what I wanted my hair to look like. Jesse cut my hair, and he did a great job. He made it look awesome, and also cut it so that if I wanted to just let it go one day, it would be cute all messed up. They also sell Davines products, as well as aveda and other high end stuff, but I bought the davines and LOVE it. My hair has never felt better. Highly recomended, and above my expectations.
I used to be a big fan, but not anymore. – Joseph has been cutting my hair for a few years now, and he has also done my color. I've had good experiences, bad experiences, and most recently, this last bad haircut has basically confirmed that he is too inconsistent for me. He ruined my color once, and I ended up with orange hair, which, even when fixed, was never right. I stopped letting him do my color. However, he was cutting my hair well. This last haircut proved to me that he is still learning and developing. He doesn't know how to work with hair based on the individual. He cut my hair the exact same way he cut the hair on the girl who was ahead of me. She had thick curly hair. I have fine, straight hair that should not be razored or layed too much, yet, he did just that. My hair is uneven, frizzy at the ends due to the razoring effect. I spent months growing my hair long. I cannot ask for my money, I can' t return this hair cut for a new one, and it's already much shorter than I wanted it, so I can't have it fixed. I don't know about the other stylists here, but avoid Joseph.
Editorial Review – Funky hair styles are created at this cutting-edge salon located in an airy Brooklyn loft.
Best Style in Brooklyn – Now called Salon Harmony:
Danielle at Salon Harmony has given me the two best, most dynamic haircuts I've ever had, particularly because they lasted several months and my hair grew into the cut without needing a midterm trim. The cuts have been both fun and flexible, offering so many options for styling. I highly recommend the salon--convenient location near Flatbush Ave in Park Slope (Q, B, 2 and 3 trains), chill atmosphere and the best stylist.
really good haircut (this place is now called Harmony) – I'm always satisfied with my haircut here (I'm a guy with straight hair). My hair always looks good not only right after but for a number of weeks.
It's a nice family-owned palce (father and two sons both work here).
They used to be called Medusa and co-owned with the other Salon on 7th Ave called Medusa, but now they're independent and called "Harmony."
Great Place – I've been going to Medusa for about a year now. I love it great place atmosphere is great. I like the fact that they do all hair there and my stylist Franny is so creative and makes me look so spectaular upon leaving the salon. I also like the make up artist they have there, she did my make up once when going to a Bar Mitzvah and it was so beautiful I couldn't believe she could accessorize my eyes the way she did. Kudos to everyone working at Medusa on 9 Seventh Avenue!
