Best. Cakes. Ever.. If you need to order a cake for a special occasion, this is the place to get it. Hands down. I know very well there are other good bakeries around (I have a huge sweet tooth), but the cakes here are just the best. The individual treats-to-eat-right-now are are also good -- but on par with some of the other great dessert places in NYC... the cakes are what really stand out. The owner/chef is really friendly, nice, and accommodating. If you can think of a dessert, she can make it. I've tried a lot of the treats here, and I have ordered several cakes. I still dream about the very first cake I ordered about a year ago (angel food with a whipped cream frosting and fresh fruit) -- it was that memorable and delicious!

WOW! Everything you like in Sweet Shoppe!. I first stopped by the "pre-opening" taste at the 5th Avenue Street Fair and boy was I glad I did! Emily Isaac, formerly the Pastry Chef at Union Square Cafe, has a brilliant sense of what tastes good - I tried the peanut butter cookie sandwiches (basically, 2 delicious peanut butter cookies sandwiched together with some kind of peanut butter cream) and - WOW - what could be better. Since then, I've tried her handmade ice cream (double scoop of chocolate and caramel crunch in a handmade sugar cone) and also the devils food cupcake and the chocolate brownie. All of it fantastic! This is a great addition to an up-and-coming neighborhood of fine restaurants! Couldn't be happier! Keep up the good work!

Great New Bakery in Park Slope!. Finally! Brooklyn has a delicious, beautiful bakery. Everything here is amazing...I'm addicted. From the Whoopie pies to the homemade ice cream and homemade cones, I love it all. Emily Isaac is a genius and I couldn't be happier that she opened up in my neighborhood. Also, good to know - she makes cakes, pies, cookie plates and more to order. I'm going to have to balance going to Trois Pommes with carrot sticks during the week. But it's well worth it! Don't miss out on this - check it out...you won't be disappointed.

Editorial Review. Desserts and ice cream from a former Union Square Cafe alum sweeten up Park Slope.
