Pratt's Best Kept Secret

I'd passed by Blue Bass Vintage a bunch of times before actually going in and looking around. I had heard from people that it was overpriced and overpicked, but boy were THEY WRONG! The store is one of the most affordable vintage stores in NYC and has great stuff in stock, from clutches to shoes to scarves and plaid tops. I can't wait to visit again and again!
- Pros: Low prices, lots to pick from
- Cons: none!

Amazing selection of threads, shoes, and accessories -- ranging from the practical to the whilmsical. Chill vibe, great service, and constantly finding gems.

I spent about 2 hours at Blue Bass Vintage the other day trying some good wear. I felt as if I was in my friend's giant closet and she kept helping me pick more treats out to check-out. The down-home feeling and good people working there make it a regular spot on my hunts to find some vintage clothes. Everyone who has spent a little time knows that this spot is well worth the journey to bklyn.
- Pros: Amazing selection of clothes and cool folks
- Cons: Too far from uptown, but worth the trek

Great spot on your thrift route

I don't need a lot from a vintage clothing store. Low prices, some decent hats, and a minimum of grabby or uber-cool fellow shoppers. Blue Bass has all of that. Manageable and well-organized inventory, good and helpful people, and I can find jeans in my size. The fifth star is a personal nod to a great coat I found there (your mileage may vary).
- Pros: Helpful but not pushy staff, great prices. Small store with some great finds.
- Cons: Bit of a trek if you don't live near Clinton Hill or the G
