The Scene – The corner space that used to house Oznot's Dish, Billyburg's pioneering hipster hang, has been reworked into a modern cafe straight out of Saigon. The space strikes a cool-as-a-cucumber pose with an all-window front wall, ornately patterned tile floor and leaf-shaped fans. The slighty harried staff attends to the stylishly scruffy crowd, packed in at dark-wood tables or at the long green-painted bar. – – The Food – The modern Vietnamese menu mixes a few surprises into traditional dishes--such as pork belly added to papaya salad--but works best when it…
Great Banh mi
by sfrucht02 at Citysearch
I love the banh mi here, way better than the Banh Mi shop on Bedford. Silent H really makes you a little gourmet sandwich. It may cost more than Banh Mi but the ingredients are quality, you won't get a hunk of pork fat in every chew. They're iced coffee is yummy. During the day it's great spot to get a little work done while you grab a bite to eat. Small-portioned, this place is figure-friendly but that's not what everyone's looking for.
Vietnamese Food???
by Blu3Citi at Citysearch
I have been eating Vietnamese food for as long as I can remember (being that I am Vietnamese), I can totally say that their food is not authentic as they claim to be. It's more of a western style cuisine that is HIGHLY over priced. This place just gives a bad reputation to real authentic Vietnamese food.
- Pros: Friendly Staff
- Cons: Overly priced for non-authentic Vietnamese food.

After one lunch at silent h, we went back the next day and got the exact same order. food is delicious. great spring rolls, great bahn mi. (and thanks for having a vegan offering!) the vegan bahn mi is so delicious it will make your head spin. the people were so nice, the tunes rock, and the place is welcoming.
- Pros: delicious food, vegan/veggie options, friendly people, good music
- Cons: i don't live across the street or i would eat there everyday
