Sapodilla is a no-no !!!. My boyfriend and I went to Sapodilla at 10:30 pm on a Saturday in the summer and it was not a good experience. There was one other couple having dinner, so it was basically empty. We waited 10-15 minutes for the waitress to get to our table. When she did show up, she apologized for making us wait, gave us water, and left again. We waited another ten minutes to finally order our drinks, appetizers, and entree. I'm a vegetarian and was informed that the one vegetarian salad was not available. Anyway, I ordered the "rasta pasta" w/ tofu. The drinks took about ten minutes, the appetizers took 20 minutes, and the entree was a disaster. While we were waiting for what seemed to be a lifetime for our meal, I overheard the waitress telling a new couple that showed up that were out of rice and peas!!! This couple bolted out of the restaurant. Thank goodness my boyfriend got the last bit of rice and peas w/ his meal. At least 40 minutes had passed from the time we ordered our entree w/ no visit from the waitress. To no surprise, she comes over to tell us that they are out of rice and peas. Who eats caribbean chicken w/ salad? My boyfriend did... very disappointing!! When all else fails, order another round of drinks. We did and IT CAME WITHOUT THE DECORATIVE PINEAPPLE!!!! The food is here and my "rasta pasta" was so bland. His chicken was too spicy and the drinks were never the same. Please do yourself a favor and walk up Smith St. and find a better place to have a good time. After all, it's never a good sign when the patrons bring you their payment after waiting 20 minutes for you to pick it up.
