Guitar Oasis

I love this shop- the selection of guitars (and other stuff) is pretty incredible; your classic flattops and electrics AND all kinds of weird one-off instruments. The staff is super nice; and very knowledgable, but not in a too-cool-for-you kind of way; they 're really passionate about guitars and genuinely willing to talk about anything they know. They do repairs, too- put a new skin head on my Dad's old Vega banjo from the 20's. highly recommended!
- Pros: best collection in Brooklyn- smart, personable staff
- Cons: kind of hard to find- call for directions!

Worth a trip from anywhere

This is the place to go for anyone interested in purchasing a vintage musical instrument for themselves or for a gift. Staff extremely knowledgeable about each piece - atmosphere is relaxing and un-pressured. It doesn't matter whether you are a famous musician looking for something special or someone who just appreciates owning a "masterpiece" , Retrofret has what you're looking for.

Honest, Reliable, Vintage Instrument Dealer

I've bought and sold instruments with these guys. Owner Steve and his team are well informed, trustworthy, and acquire a unique collection of both classic and oddball instruments. I learn something new everytime I interact with these guys. Anyone who loves vintage instruments will enjoy browsing their site and store. An important part of Brooklyn's musical community.

- Cons: this is not ebay -- expect to pay a fair market price
