"YOU" people not welcomed!. Hubby and I were looking for a place to grab some brunch and passed Chez Lola. we decided to try it. place looked decent enough when we entered and was seated. Then we waited 15 min. for someone to come take our order. our order was taken only after my hubby caught the eye of the manager we seated us. so we ordered our food and waited. while we were waiting we noticed that the waitress waited on every other table except ours (hmmmm?) Even people who came in after us (Hmmmm again?) after about 18 min of waiting my hubby got up and asked the manager/owner what was taking so long and the guy flipped out and said," it's always the same with "you" people. we said we were leaving and he said good, dont ever come back i dont want your kind here!…
Nice Place.
Chez Lola is a great place to go for a casual, low key dinner. Brunch is also great. The fare is good and pretty ecletic so, listen to your server's advice. Server I had was friendly and down to
earth, attentive but not overbearing. Summertime offers a lovely garden in the back, free of street noise and is private and romantic place for a date.
Wine list is well priced both by the bottle and the glass. (Some of the same bottles they sell at Chez Oskar 3 blocks away are at least 5 dollars cheaper at Chez Lola!) Overall it's a great spot for a chill bite.…
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I really thought Lola was going to be a great place to eat. Well, I couldn't have been more mistaken. The servicer pretended to be professional but clearly was not. We had a large party, 12, and this place just could not service us. The food took forever to get to us. Half of us got our food first and afer like 10 mins. the rest got theirs. Then to beat it all, the food was cold. It was sent back, nuked, and returned. Can you imagine nuking mussels? Oh, yeah, and the mussels were $12 for like 12 mussels. Unheard of anywhere, even in NY.. The paella was not edible. Not only cold but horrible. Grainy gross rice with non-descriptive seafood, meager portion as well.. don't bother wasting ur time or money. We had to ask for bread after sitting for like 35 mins and getting no even water.…
Local Favorite. If you want a relaxing and pleasurable meal then go to Chez lola which puts it sister restaurant, Chez Oskar, to shame. The food is wonderful, the staff is accomodating, and the atmosphere is pleasant. Go there!…
pathetic.
My husband and i had a terrible experience at Chez Lola.
The service was unfriendly and simply unprofessional . We showed up at 10 pm and the waitress made us clearly understand that she didn't want to serve any longer that night. She rushed us and was very rude in her attitude.
The quality of the food was ridiculous. First my meal, the pork loin, arrived cold! and the sauce tasted like one of those Maggi tablets! My husband ordered the chicken and it wasn't delectable at all. It is dinner food! But too expensive for that!
And last detail: the cooks whistling at me from their open kitchen when we left!
Un grand moment de gastronomie !!!
A very poor experience! I really don't recommend that place!…
