The Scene
The charm of many Brooklyn restaurants lies in their homey decor, but this one layers in a touch of Manhattan chic to its bucolic comforts. A formalized rusticism is evoked through a forest's worth of dark wood, country-chic chandeliers and a new-age soundtrack best left to yoga classes. The expectedly diverse Fort Greene crowd eats it up like pasta twirled around a fork.
The Food
The menu offers a mix-and-match approach to Italian cuisine, offering no less than three dressings for salads, and three sauces for the meats and fish from "Rudy's Grill." The best dishes are the simplest: Pillowy buffalo mozzarella and fresh tomato drizzled with rich olive oil, tender grilled vegetables accompanying a pork chop, and fresh berries topped with boozy zabaione cream. Flavor profiles occassionally show the rough eges of a neighborhood joint, such as citrusy overkill in a tuna carpaccio and a risotto that overpowers its spinach and parmesan with salt.
Hits: The room's a touch nicer than its neighborhood-restaurant peers, and some of the dishes exhibit farm-fresh flavor.
Misses: The Enya soundtrack lulling diners to sleep, and overambitious dishes that lack balance.

I recently enjoyed a fantastic dinner with three friends. The food was unlike anything I have ever tried before and trust me I enjoy a great italian meal. The place was beautifully decorated and the staff was quick, responsive and looked neat. I cannot say enough about the calamari and the lasagna...WOW. One might read and say " You ordered Calamari and Lasagna how can anyone mess that up". That can be the furthest from the truth and these dishes can be so easily messed up if one does not know what they are doing. Anyone who has written a bad or negative comment of this place must have been having a bad day or does not really know what quality food is. To those I say enjoy Pizza Hut Pasta because then this is what you deserve to eat. I will be back and this time I will be inviting friends from the old country who know how to appreciate a great meal with great friends.

This was my first time visit this restaurant and it surprise me a big time!! The ingredients are so fresh which it's hard to forget the tast of the food. We had Frittura Con Verde for appetizer which contains fried calamari, shrimp and zucchini, served with spicy tomato sauce. The seafoods are very fresh, yum! I had dinner - Sweet Italian Sausage with Spianch & String Bean as side dishes from their Ruby's Grill selections. The veggies are extremely fresh as well... absolutely will go back again!!
