Cute, But Too Salesy and Horrible Return Policy. I generally like Something Else - they have a cute selection of shoes and pretty decent sales. My issue with the store is this - the sales people are horribly pushy!

I was there last winter to buy a pair of Frye boots. The woman who was helping me had a few other people asking her questions but she completely ignored them even after I told her I was fine and needed no further help! My guess is this is because my boots were $300+ and the sales lady was looking to make that sale vs. help customers who actually needed assistance. But I bought the boots and I am sure she was happy.

Come this summer, I bought another pair of shoes. I was uncertain about the heel length but somehow I got talked into buying them anyway - and the salesperson told me I could always return them. So I went home and the second I got there I had one of those "What have I done? I don't want these" moments. So I turned around and went to return what I just bought. Sadly, the sales person then explained that I could only return them for store credit, and not get my money back. I was kind of mad. Six months later, and I still have a $100 in store credit I don't even want.

Sigh.

So yeah, cute store, pushy salespeople, poor return policy.

Great Denim Shop!!! Awesome selection!. I just moved to Brooklyn from Manhattan and found this adorable jean shop while eating on Smith street one night. I popped in and was greeted by the cutest salesgirl that was so helpful...I have no idea what the negative reviews are about...probably the typical complainers that spend their Saturday night on the internet posting negative thoughts. Anyway I ended up buying the coolest GSTAR jacket as well as 3 pairs of jeans that were all way cheaper then the city .( A pair of Seven's were $159 and the same one's $198 at Bloomies). Love their funky t-shirts also. Now I pop in weekly and the salesgirl knows what I like and always shows me what's new...Thanks SomethingElse! You saved me a trek to the city!

Great little store with really friendly salepeople. I've been shopping at something else on smith since it opened and i don't know what all of the negative reviews of the sales staff are all about. every time i go into that store, the salespeople are friendly and remember me, my style and my size. it is a little annoying that the shoes and the clothes are two separate stores, but it's not really that big of a deal...everytime i've ever gone into that store the girl that works there (i'm forgetting her name, but she's been there since the very beginning) is smiley and sweet and drops whatever she's doing to help me out. i've gotten about 10 pairs of jeans from that store since they openend. they have a really good selection of jeans and even though those are pretty expensive they balance it out with really affordable tops...the shoe selection is really nice too, although i wish they'd get more sneakers

Great little shop. I passed this store several times without giving it a lot of thought until I wandered in with a friend; I was thrilled to see several of my favorite brands there, and without awful markups like you may find in other boutiques. The manager/owner (?) is very friendly and had a great sale running when we were there. He paid a lot of attention to us and helped us out with questions about their small but varied shoe collection.

What a bunch of Muppet's. Do yourself a favour, and try "Something Else" a better clothing store for one.

Not sure where the attitude comes from, the collection they have is average at best. Totally rude and obnoxious.

Don't waste your money.

Worst Customer Service!. I found the people that work there, to be extremely rude and unhelpful. Don't ever buy anything from this store unless you know for sure that you are keeping it. Especially if it is a pair of shoes, because apparently those are two seperate departments.
