Insect in Drink + Hostile Service. Good music and a conversational atmosphere weren't enough to offset the staff's disregard for 20th century service standards. After placing an order for hot wings and carrying my drink to my table, I noticed a fly frozen in one of the ice cubes. Sweet.

The hot wings never showed, and when I asked a server about them, he became hostile and combative. So I asked for my money back, as I'd already paid for the wings. After several minutes of conference with the bartender, he begrudgingly returned my money. But the guy still felt it necessary to throw out rude and unnecessary comments.

The message: if you expect drinks to not have insects in them and your servers to treat you with respect, do not go here. I left hoping that it quickly and permanently goes out of business.

Beer, burgers, and board games draw regulars to this no-frills Park Slope bar.. In Short
At this unpretentious neighborhood pub, drinks are cheap, and a jukebox blasts classic and indie rock for free until 8 pm nightly. Seated at the short oak bar, regulars chat with the bartenders over well-poured pints of Guinness, while locals nosh on burgers, and play drunken Jenga and Scrabble at tables that are scattered across the well-worn tiled floor. Behind the foosball table, sports and movies are projected on a back wall, and on warm nights, the front windows open up to sidewalk seating.

Hits: Cheap drinks that get even cheaper during happy hour, free juke box tunes in the early evening, reasonably priced food, friendly bartenders and sidewalk seating.

Misses:
The slightly divey atmosphere isn't exactly brimming with personality, and the beer selection is nothing to write home about.

Incredible Atmosphere, Awesome Location, Perfect Place to Chill Out!!!. I don't think I can even describe this place well enough. Looking for somewhere good to relax and have a drink after a busy work week and super busy Friday, I found this spot on citysearch and set out to hit-up this tucked away spot on Bergen St. Located in trendy trendy trendy park slope, this spot is discreet yet popular with the locals. An unpretentious crowd is bustling around inside, while a few brave souls face the chilly fall evening for a casual smoke. The bar seemed packed but at the same time, everyone had room to breathe in the small ground level spot. An old cult classic is projected on the large blank wall while free tunes till 8pm got the crowd dancing. The staff was friendly and attentive, even sat down to explain the movie to us, since the sound wasn't on and we missed the intro. Plenty of drinks for my group of friends, and still didn't hear our wallets crying...all in all I couldn't have been happier to hang out down here and can't wait to do it again!!!

a bubble in time. This is just my favourite place to go relax - Awesome atmosphere, best jukebox in town and just about the least pretentious bar that exists. Comparable to Commonwealth (another awesome joint) but with some thought put into the color scheme. Honestly I don't go there with an agenda BUT I have been quite lucky to meet some new lady friends on occasion. Give the place a few trys and sink right in.

red red wine. I'm all about the wine. Each Mon & Wed the sheep cuts the wine prices in half. They have quite a selection for a New York bar, all European and all really tasty. Check it out girls and oh, no sleazy guys hassling you, and I'm a hottie before anybody comments :)

superb trivia night, wine selection/half price wine, foosball, unbelievable jukebox. On my first and lonely visit to this small inconspicuous bar I met about ten people, all of whom were attending this bar on a regular basis. Unpretentious and intelligent, most importantly very interesting and easy going. I've been to Black Sheep about six times now and it just keeps getting better. Best group of regulars i have ever seen. One of those bars where you can go with your buddies, girlfriend or simply alone and be just as comfortable. Great drink specials, half price wine nights(best wine selection i have seen in a regular pub), awesome Trivia night, and my favorite: Foosball table with very competitive players. Great jukebox. THE place to watch soccer matches.

Cozy, Cool, and Comfortable. I come to Black Sheep often and am never disappointed. The cozy decor, cheap drinks, and good conversation make this my favorite bar in the Slope. As a female I know I can go to the Sheep and always feel comfortable. It helps that all the bartenders are pretty cool too. My favorites: customer contributions to the already awesome jukebox, great beer selection, and HALF PRICED WINE nights!

A little piece of europe in park slope. A very warm and friendly bar that reinvents itself every few months with new specials and events. As a fan of foosball I have found some of the best players in this bar so don't expect it to be easy. Great happy hr!!!

sometimes you wanna' go .... amazing spot -- just what the neighborhood needed. i love o'connor's as well, but this place has a slightly different vibe, with the big screen and fooseball table, great juxebox and board games (!). the prices cannot be beat... we live around the corner and love stopping by for a drink.
