Great service, always delicious!. I ate here with a friend for the third time and again it was superb. My friend, who is from Los Angeles, had been shocked by how terrible the service is in NYC and was delighted to finally have exceptional and genuine service here at Le Gamin. I can't lie, it was quite refreshing. The patio was beautiful as we ate our crepes and sipped our mimosas in the sun, surrounded by flowers and vines, and chatting with tables near by. We will definitely be coming back before she returns to LA!

Awful service, very expensive. I dine out a lot and am not super picky but the service here is about the worst I have experienced and the group I was with agreed. I think the big sign that says "Self Serve" must have fallen off the wall. To top it off you need a fed bailout to help you pay the bill - ridiculously expensive for mediocre food.

Excellence Defined. I had to write in a review after reading what I felt was a totally off-base review below. I live around the corner, and recently discovered this place last weekend. I proceeded to have three meals there in two days. It's bliss!

The outdoor garden is very euro-chic and cute, they let you linger and sit for a long as you want. I literally sat around reading the paper on a lazy weekday and drinking great coffee for two hours. The food is utterly delicious - I'm not kidding, the BEST french toast I have ever had. They have an excellent pre-fixe during the week that is a real bargain. In addition, I've never had a problem with service. Everyone's been kind and thoughtful and attentive. When you add up the ambience, the food, and the whole experience - excellent all around.

Very Good Crepes!. This is a place I would recommend to anone looking for that :Le Marais" experience in New York City, the crepes are very good and the place is children friendly. Everytime I have gone there, the service has been very good. During the summer the garden space is open, which is a plus in my opinion

Mediocrity defined. Both food and service are lacking.. I live very close to this restaurant and have made a concerted effort to like it. However, each time I give it a try, I am disappointed. The food is overpriced for the portion sizes. The service is consistently lackadaisical, at best. During a dinner, my food was set on the counter by the cook. He then repeatedly rang the bell for the server, who was out of sight on a smoke break. Frustrated with the wait, I claimed the food myself before it got cold. Another time I entered the restaurant, and the servers did not get up from the table they were sitting at to greet me. I ordered a capaccino to go for $4. It was less than 8 oz, and the milk was burnt. The most business Le Gamin will see from me is a to go soup order now and then. The vegetable medley is very good. Too bad this place can't get its act together. The neighborhood has a limited number of restaurants.

Wow this place is average. I know it's not Danielle, but could it be any more mediocre? My waiter actually yawned as we said goodbye and our party had just spent a hundred dollars for lunch. Everything was okay, I guess, but if there was anywhere else to go for an oeuf I'd go there.

Lovely French Bistro That's Easy on the Wallet. Great food, attentive, friendly service, cozy space, but not cramped. Have been a couple of times in the last year and my friends and family have all been impressed.

The name says it all. Like the others before it, this little cafe a diamond in the rough. The food is amazing. I have had bad luck with French cuisine in the past few years, but this place changed all that. The prices are spot on. Very inexpensive for the quality and portions you get. Nothing on the menu is more then $14.50, which is almost impossible in this day in age (entrees start at around $7 with a large selection of sweet and savory crepes). We had (each) the duck and lamb. Both amazing and insanely filling! The soul waiter/host was always on hand, even with a full house. It's a great place for a quiet meal and suitable for a romantic dinner as well as a family/group night. Call ahead if you have a large group as this is a very small restaurant. Well worth the walk from the every day norm of Park Slope to Prospect Heights!
