Workforce One Career Ctr

Workforce One Is NO HELP. I am currently out of work and have been seeking employment for some time now, it really seems like the Job Market would rather keep the working working and the unemployed not working. I have alot of experience in my field. I tried getting a ITG grant and they keep deny people triaining grants. This is happeining to so many people. Workforce One Queens keep saying they have free training, and that is so NOT True, They don't help you find a job. I was informed by the worker, they only get Toy R Us jobs, Security Jobs, & Home Attendant Jobs. Is this what the Goverment invest so much money into the WorkForce One to do. The people in the queens location walks around and looking busy and does nothing to help the unemployed, oh they do know how to be rude and nasty to you. The Queens location is so big and has alot of workers and the out put of productivity is VERY LOW. Goverment needs to reall step in and take Control over this Program. It is too many people out of work for this. The only training they agree to give is Resume and interview training. This Workforce One needs to be Restructured, it should be help for the Unemployed. Will write a letter to my congress, because they give Workforce one too much credit for doing Nothing. I was refused ITG Grant. I have spoken to many others that say the same, about this ITG. This place needs to be investigated. This is Too Sad…

Hours and days wasted. I am a NYS licensed teacher and a certified interior decorator. Finding myself out of work, I spend a lot of time in the Library, where I was approached by a very nice gentleman who told me about Workforce 1. Why not? I have people skills and would be able to give tips to any retail store regarding display design.

What a disgraceful operation!!!! I could write a book on the many interviews, but will just share one: A very disinterested woman was still finishing take-out Chinese when I walked in. She interrupted me mid-pitch to tell me not to expect to be hired by [store] because they are looking for a certain "type" and I might not fit in. But I should still fill out the application because "you never know."

When I asked why I was not a good fit she replied that she "never said that," and changed the subject.

That was my 4th or 5th time there and I will not go back. I have been discouraged and made to feel like an incompetent. But THEY are the incompetents.…

Disappointed! Would not Recommend. Workforce Queens location. IA with the poster below. However it wasn't that way prior. Since changes have been made within the center advisers are not taking their jobs seriously. I have been a member with the Workforce Queens Center for 2-3years. I must say this time I am truly upset with them. I was sent out for a job with a company and was hired I finished all the requirements which included training and paying for fees and I'm not working. This has been going on for about 3-41/2 months. I received a call from someone in Workforce Queens checking to see if all was well she notified me that the company gave them my start date and said I was an employee. I explained to her no and wanted to file a complaint. Instead of connecting me to a hire up she wrote it down said someone would get back to me. LIES. I contacted my adviser and she was no help. I called a second time to see if I could get an update (see who was hired) they gave me nothing but " Oh I'm going to contact them." Again no one called. I must admit I was upset and demanded to speak to someone immediately. I received a call who I think was a head manager and lets just say she was rude and said there was nothing they could do even questioned if I was hired( thought I was lying) My issue with Workforce is that they could of contacted the employer and one never send potential candidates on a job that is not legit. Get the facts. If there is any information we (candidates need to know) let it be known and stop brushing people off. If I complain and you say I can fix it FIX IT. Now I have to start from square one and paranoid to use their services because of this. I say go with a temp agency. I will write a complaint to Department of Labor. Do not use their services.…

Who Are they Helping. Workforce one Queens location...when you go to see a career advisor..they do not Help..they look at Google with you ....most of them are very rude and act like we are taking money out of their pocket..Keep in mind unemployed can happen to anyone...You call to leave them a message, no one ever return your calls. They do all this advertisement on the website about new workshops and when you call to schedule an appt, they tell you oh that workshop has not started yet. There needs to be major changed in there...A career advisor told me they only have certain connections, and that I am welcome to visit other boroughs for help. They send out emails saying to come in for training opportunities and when you go to the workforce one, they tell you, the computer is generated those emails..This is sad..Who are they here to help...or are they just recieving a check for nothing...you can only print One Resume...they complain about the paper or tell you to go to the Library...…
