Stellar classes right in Prospect Heights / Crown Heights!.
I just love this place so much. I live in the neighborhood but work in Manhattan. I recently strayed from Shambhala to try some classes at a few different studios near work. It made me realize how amazing the vibe is there... so down-to-earth. The vinyasa classes on Saturday and Sunday mornings are THE BEST! They fill up quickly, so get there 15 minutes in advance to grab a spot. And it's not expensive at all: $13/class and it works out to be even less if you buy a pack of 10 or 20. I also heard that they have a few "community classes" in which the suggested donation is $6. I haven't tried the dance classes yet, but when I walk by, it seems like everyone is having a blast. They even have a live percussionist for some classes! Go! And I'll see you there!

Tiny Gem of a Studio.
I love the community feel of this yoga center. Everyone seems to know each other and practice there regularly. And they're very welcoming and chatty with newcomers. Ideal if you're new to the neighborhood and looking to make friends. It's tiny, but they alway manage to find enough room for everyone. If you like an intense class, take Jyll's Thursday night vinyasa II. I don't think they take credit cards, but I could be wrong. But who cares when classes are this cheap and within walking distance for the Prospect Heights/Crown Heights crowd?
