“The appearance is very pleasant and the service is OK, but the atmosphere feels weirdly depressive and the greetings are way less than warm.”
“have never had a disappointing bottle of wine from Sip - it's like having your own sommalier.”
“The closest two shops are much less impressive from the exterior but ultimately have more of what you would expect from a smaller store and have a wider variety of prices.”
“Honestly, I'd love to love this place and believe strongly in supporting local businesses, but between the lukewarm greetings, the lackluster wines, and the difficulty responding to my price parameters (i.e., poor listening skills), I'm running out of goo”
“The staff is never very friendly (sometimes borderline surly) and aren't particularly helpful in choosing wines.”

Great wine shop!.
This is a great place to get to know and understand wine. Nick, the owner (or any of the other employees), will most likely remember your last bottle purchased and they'll do their best to steer you
to something else you might like next time you visit.
I consider myself lucky to have such a great wine shop in my neighborhood!…
I don't miss Manhattan!. When I moved to Brooklyn from Manhattan nearly two years ago, I was sad to give up my neighborhood wine shop. That lasted only until I stumbled into Sip! Nick and all of his staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. It's clear that they all actually love wine and that they taste what they sell. If you're adventurous, they'll look at what you've bought in the past and make recommendations based on that. At Sip the service is very personalized, delivery is cheerful and the mixed-case discount is excellent! I have never had a disappointing bottle of wine from Sip - it's like having your own sommalier.…
Not Impressed. Don't really understand the boutique appraoch. The staff is never very friendly (sometimes borderline surly) and aren't particularly helpful in choosing wines. The closest two shops are much less impressive from the exterior but ultimately have more of what you would expect from a smaller store and have a wider variety of prices.…
Great service and great tastings. Where do I start? I've never been disappointed with any bottle of wine I've bought at Sip whether it be from the tasting on Saturdays or from the staff's recommendation. They have a good representation of many different wine regions and price ranges. I'm happy to be a Sipster.…
What a find!. While visiting family in the area, I was pleased to stumble across this fabulous new wine shop! I was so impressed by their varied selections and pricing that not only did I purchase a bottle of wine for my cousin and his wife, but also a gift certificate for them to use at their leisure. The owner and staff were very knowledgeable with regard to their wines and readily provided me with several recommendations within my price range, which for the record was to stay close to $20 per bottle. The displays were lovely and browsing was a pleasure. The staff was attentive, without being pushy. My only disapointment was that we don't live in the area and therefore can't shop there with any regularity. I was truly pleased when I mentioned this to the proprietor and found out that he will ship wines to me, overnight, which I have since done several times, with great success. Meanwhile, my cousins shop at SIP often, having used up that gift certificate long ago!…
