Great place for Friday Night Dinner

Miracle Grill is a casual, yet upscale little place with quality food and great ambience.
With its stained glass covered patio area and comforting food selection, Miracle Grill is a great place to relax with friends on a weekend night.
- Pros: patio area, ambience
Not as good as the original Miracle Grill

Having long ago been a fairly regular customer at Miracle Grill in the East Village (and an occasional one at the other Manhattan location) I was psyched when this place opened up.... I remembered little miracles on every plate. I went several times to this location on 7th Ave before facing up to the fact that this latest incarnation just ain't as good as the original. The more 'everyday' dishes, like quesadillas and nachos, are just flat-out boring. The cheese tastes like the supermarket processed variety, and there are no sauces or flavors that are special. You could easily make these yourself at home. If you order something a bit more unusual, like the linguica breakfast burrito offered at brunch, you will do better. In fact, the breakfast burrito is really pretty good. Sadly though, too many entrees at both brunch and dinner fall flat. The margs are pretty good, and the outside patio is really nice. The inside seating area is a bit too bright, loud, and plain, though. Miracle Grill is OK, but a much better choice is Barrio, right across the street.
- Pros: lovely patio area
- Cons: at least half the menu items are bland and too pricey for what they are
