“cozy place”
“The food isn't great, but good for the value and, hey, there's tons of beer.”
“It also has a very tasty jukebox.”
“Very spacious, the service is great, and the jukebox has an amazing selection.”
“If you like to see bands at smaller venues before they get their big break then the downstairs at Union Hall is great place to see live music!”
“worst service, rude bartenders”
“The food isn't great, but good for the value and, hey, there's tons of beer.”
“do really recommend this place, it has something for everyone, so long as you can tolerate the crowds on the weekends.”
Great Place. This bar has everything, and it fits right into the neighborhood. Full of strollers and families on weekend afteernoons and 20-something kids at night. Nice little outdoor area for smokers. The food isn't great, but good for the value and, hey, there's tons of beer.
Best Complete Bar in Bklyn.
A bold statement, indeed, but think about it: Games, Drinks, Space, Outdoor Space, Good People, Live Music, Tasty Bites, Ambience (Books, warm fireplace & very solid jukebox) and Edu-tainment. Where else can you get that? I really like this spot.
The only drawbacks: If you're agoraphobic, it does get crowded. But I like bars that are crowded so long as it remains orderly and festive - Union Hall does. Next, on occasion Bocce brings out some overly-competitve stooges, but it seems to happen rarely and less prominently here than at Floyd (UH's sister bar). Waitstaff was overwhelmed in the early days, but they seem to be more responsive and are really nice.
Generally, I'm reaching for things to have a problem with at Union Hall. This is a hugely welcomed addition to the neighborhood.
WHeeee!! WHat fun! Lots of places to do lots of things in one bar!. Bocce ball down there, comfy couches over here, a long bar, large people watchin windows, diverse customers
worst service, rude bartenders. beautiful bar shame about the service. Some of the worst bartenders in the neighborhood, rude and inattentive even on slow nights.
Get your act together. Beautiful space, but frustrating for shows. We went Friday night to purchase tickets for the Silversun Pickups and were dismayed to find out none of the bartenders knew where the tickets were. Then we showed up the night of the show and we're told it was sold out. It's ridiculously frustrating to make a special trip for tickets when it was made clear on the internet that this was the only way to get tickets. A new venue yes, but organization and communication is key to win fans.
Polished Park Slope bar and bocce hall leads a double life with a hip basement performance space.. With 6,000 square feet of space to play with, this up-market bocce bar (the brother of Brooklyn favorite Floyd) shifts personalities. Up front feels like a private library with stately conversation nooks, built-in bookshelves, comfy couches and two fireplaces. The gentlemanly space transitions to two manicured bocce courts, where rarely serious teams and spectators get much rowdier. The living room-like basement wavers between empty and packed--local indie band-loving fans swarm when there's a show.
Coolest Place I've been to Yet. I recently moved to the Slope and have been trying to get aquianted with the local Bars. So far this place is my favorite. Very spacious, the service is great, and the jukebox has an amazing selection. Even on a wednesday night this place draws a crowd. Try the Potstickers and the mini-Hamburgers. Chill vibe upstairs and live music downstairs. That and a game of Bocce Ball (they have two full lanes), and what more can you ask for in your neighborhood bar.
Chill scene with lots of space and comfortable seating. Bring on the Bocce Ball!! This place is new and *awesome*. What a breathe of fresh air from the regular bar scene in Park Slope. It doesnt have that dark "let's get wasted" vibe...and not *one* big screen t.v in sight!!! Pretty much everything about this bar is different than what you're used to... a decked out library in the front, beautifully stained wood throughout, a jukebox, outdoor patio, milk and cookies, and you got it, an indoor Bocce court ready for play! Just watch out for crowded weekend nights- it could take hours to get in one game. Regardless, I'm psyched to have this joint in my neighborhood.
