as a brooklyn resident, i gave this store the benefit of the doubt in spite of having read negative reviews about it from reliable sources. i've been there twice and was ignored both times. could it be my old navy hoodie?? puhleeeease... as much as i love to support local business, i cannot stand snotty, pretentious attitude.

No, its not your imagination- I recently experiences the wrath of Diane T, and I will never shop there again. I refuse to buy anything from anyone who doesnt appreciate the business. Our neighborhood in Cobble Hill is small, so its confusing why the owner thinks that people will continue to go back to her shop, when there are plenty of great shops in our neighborhood that certainly better. My suggestion? go to Dear Fieldbinder on Smith, and you will find what you need.

I'm in agreement with the others, here--the collection is consistently appealing and well-presented, but I'll avoid shopping there anymore. I don't have strong feelings about the sales staff, but the owner herself is *awful*--I've somehow managed to fly under her nasty radar and browse in peace, but I've watched her being unspeakably rude to two different customers, who were themselves behaving perfectly properly. Maybe she could get away with this kind of thing when she first opened and neighborhood competition wasn't as stiff, but now that people can stroll just a few blocks in any direction to other, more pleasant boutiques, she'd best shape up.
