Didn't meet expectations.. Went here for my friend's 22nd birthday; saw it online and thought it would be a great place to sit down and have food, drinks and dance a bit. The lounge area was horrible, felt like I was in the back of a restaurant and the dance area downstairs was like being in someone's overheated, dirty basement. The food was okay, regular finger foods. However the Bellini Champagne/Cocktail Drink was very good. Would not recommend this place for anyone's birthday, maybe just to have a drink at the bar. Don't reserve a table, it's crappy.

It's just so damn cool!. Great service, DAMN good food and the bartender is not playing around with those drinks! Just an excellent experience all around! I came from the Bronx to go there and I do not regret it for one moment.

Sunday brunch too!. Sugar Lounge is a great bar, a good restaurant...and they serve Sunday brunch too! For about $10 you get coffee, a mimosa/blood mary, and yummy food. The patio in the back is the perfect way to start off a lazy Sunday.

Cute atmosphere. My friend had his 30th birthday party/fake wedding there and it was great. We took up most of the outside patio where there were appetizers. It was really cute and the owner was great about everything. The only problem was that the waitress service got a little overwhelmed at points and the service at the bar was kind of slow. But we moved inside after the patio closed and had a dance party after they moved the tables for us. They were really accommodating.

One of the best bar/lounges in downtown Brooklyn. I used to live in Cobble Hill, and have seen the waterfront grow into a pretty cool, and indeed safe place to hang out. The new addition of The Sugar Lounge was the cherry on the cake for me.

From the distinct decor, to the bar owner's random bongo playing, to the chalkboard bathrooms and the gorgeous back garden, this remains one of my favorite bars to date. I actually go out of my way to spend the night at The Sugar Lounge.

Very friendly staff, amazing drinks, attentive owner (Freddie) and a hop skip and a jump from the F/G trains at Smith/Bergen.

You have to go try this place - and if you like the calm ambience of French Chill House, you're in the a treat in the music department too.

wow, you gotta try this place!. i have been living just down the street from sugar lounge for several months, and just tried it for the first time recently. i went without high expectations, but i was blown away by this place! the drinks are amazing (cara-tini, which is a caramel martini) is to die for. the baba ganoush was very tasty as well. it is decorated really nice and cozy, and the bartender was very attentive as well. this place definitely makes my list of regular places to visit from now on!

This cozy lounge with a killer backyard brings sweet relief to the Columbia Waterfront.. The Scene
Fresh flowers and gilded statues add some class to this off-the-beaten-path bar. Clusters of light bulbs hanging from the ceiling make mod chandeliers, and low banquets and booths line the dark red walls. Tall chairs along the bar allow locals to watch a serious mixologist at work. Intense shaking and swirling goes in to each specialty cocktail, even though the drinks are incredibly cheap.

The Draw
Perfectly poured caipirinhas, caipiroskas, and capirvinhas (made with cachaca, vodka, and white wine, respectively) are only $6 each, and $7 buys the dirtiest martini in town. A light menu, featuring snack foods like baba ganoush and guacamole, is available until 3am. When the weather is nice, patrons take their festivities outside. Hugging the bar's outer stucco walls, a spacious and candlelit L-shaped patio is dressed up with raw wood tables, benches strewn with siken pillows, stylish ottomans, and even a pair of hammocks.

Something Sweet on the Street. Delightfully pretty addition to the "rough around the edges" waterfront. Great to have finger foods to go with libations. Kinda funny that they serve candy, too, to play along with the 'sugar' theme. About any take on the caipirinha you can imagine is found here, although, the Brooklyn cocktail should stick closer to its roots along the lines of a Manhattan cocktail style drink.
