The Scene
A snaking bartop winds along the deep-colored walls of this sultry neighborhood bar. A charming back corner replicates granny's living room, with a fully functional piano, lace doilies, and the fake fireplace made of Styrofoam stones and a faux-library facade. An equally quaint patio rests beyond, fashioned from a chipped birdbath, flowerboxes, shrubby plants, and speakers piping out jukebox selections from inside. Trendy tunes are eschewed for hipster staples, from Guns n' Roses to the Bobs (Marley and Dylan).
The Draw
The local crowd of cool kids and yuppies are drawn in with karaoke and live jazz, as well as the signature drink list. The bar's proprietor is a veteran bartender and self-proclaimed mixologist. Inspired concoctions include the energy-boosting Olivia Neutron John made of sugar-free Red Bull, vodka and triple sec, and the sinfully saccharine Soft Peach, which is as sweet and refreshing as a Freeze pop.

Super friendly bartenders and a comfortable atmosphere make up this small Williamsburg bar. There's a table in the back where card games occasionally occur and a patio area out back where you can smoke and fend off the mosquitoes. A good place to catch up with an old friend over some pints of Sierra Nevada.

thanks for the $3 drinks. the only thing better than the bowl of goldfish with sneaky wasabi terrors was your charming bar-tude. The internet deserves to know about you and your little dog too. Soft spot has good music, and makes us glad to be here in non-hattan. Be there in a few.

Tap beer selection is small but good enough with standard fare (i.e. guinness, stella, etc.) and they even have Kirin on tap which i've only seen at izakaya joints in the city. Proprieter (Matt) is a sweetheart and kick-a@#* musician to boot so naturally, great music revolves in place. Happy hour rules with 2 for 1 till 8pm, then the HH kicks into gear again some nights from 11pm onwards. Patio is a lifesaver this summer however you get the boot after 10pm so beware, that's when the crowd inside swells and since place is small like east village joint 'welcome to the johnsons', not for clostrophobic peeps. Oh, forgot to mention the bartenders are amazing!
