The Scene
Stonework walls, tree-stump lounge tables and a local artist's lighting fixtures (in the shape of antlers) merge elements of trucker-hat sensibility and apres-ski style at this Williamsburg corner spot. The bar area, with a couple of shag-rugged nooks, makes the room comfortable for a drink, but most of the young guests come for a rib-sticking meal.
The Food
Unconventional appetizers include the apple and cheddar fritters, which are pleasantly sweet but missing a certain sharpness, and a chicory salad with sauteed greens. The cheeseburger, held together by a fine home-baked bun, is rich with a juicy tang, and the beer-batter onion rings pack a solid crunch. Seafood dishes, such as the bland roasted monkfish, aren't as punchy as the meat and veggies. The kitchen takes seasonal cues, veering toward soups and stews in the winter, and desserts change from day to day.

its great to see country fried steak and ny strip on the menu, but when you actually eat it, you know that you've had better, much better. plus the service, unfortunately like many restaurants in williamsburg that employ flaky people, leaves something to be desired. don't EVER ask for attention beyond the norm, you will be disappointed.

This place is not great at all. Avoid it. I ordered delivery for brunch today. The French Toast was seven dollars, and consisted of two hunks of bread. That's it. No syrup. No berries. And it was advertised with berries. Just bread. And the sweet potato fries were cold and mushy. I called to complain. And they were rude, which I expected. But they consented to send another order of the French toast. Which was kind of better. they put the berries on it that time. I threw most of it away. Kind of a waste of a place. Not really satisfying. Not gonna order from here again. Love, Angry Emily
