Melt is the best restaurant in North slope, I went in plenty of times in the last month and Alex is long gone. Employees come and go in this industry and with a bad attitude of course He would not last as the manager. The servers yesturday were very friendly. The food at melt is always fresh and delicious-especially the daily specials. Every dish that comes out of that kitchen is absolutely worth every dime. The owner is great. She works hard to make melt work. The St. Germain cocktail is smooth. There is nowhere else in the slope that can compete with melt. Its been my favorite and will continue to be my favorite today, tomorrow and on and on.

I dont write reviews, but right now, i MUST. What's going on here at MELT??!! Someone please tell me. Ive been eating and drinking at this once lovely place since it opened 4 years ago and now i can say that i will NEVER be back. It wasnt always great but for the past year or so, the staff was the best they ever had and since Patrick came on board, the food was always stellar. Knowledgable servers, talented bartenders. Familiar faces and warm service. What's left of this now? Nothing but the great food and i heard that Patrick, the exec chef is leaving soon. I slowly saw the staff that my husband and i loved so much leave one by one and i could be mistaken but i would think that this is for the most part because of the rude impolite new manager they have. Last time we were there we finally asked for his name since for the past month or so we've had nothing but attitude from him everytime we've been. ALEX, thats is name. Well Melt owner, if you read this, please ask yourself: ''Why did i hire this guy?'' It is very sad to see such a promising restaurant fall from grace in so lil time because of one single DB. We wish we knew where the fabulous staff members work now but when we asked where Gen was, we were told off by Mr Alex. Gen was the number one reason why we came to Melt. Always friendly, smiling, knew what she was doing and did it well. She was clearly running the show over there. We doubt that she ''was let go'' like we were told, we like to believe that she had the character and good judgement to leave. So please, if you read this, Stacy, Laura, Christina, Gen, reply to this posting and let us know where you all are! We miss you at Melt and we know we wont be the only ones.

All-caps "disappointing mother" below misses the point: one of the many nice things about Melt is that it really is more of an 'adult' place. This is a "pro" for many people! The food is excellent. On Tuesdays, they have a tasting menu that is an exceptional value. I definitely recommend it, although on some Tuesdays you will get a better meal than others. I guess the experimentation is how they come up with what works. Everything I've sampled on the regular menu is great. The decor is slick and mod, but the place still feels friendly and cozy. Service is friendly and competent.
