They have great brunch foods. "If I am lazy on the weekends and don't have anything in my fridge except expired milk and old hummus, Picket Fence is where I go to get my grub on. They have great brunch foods and I am always full and happy when I leave this place. My other half almost always hits the steak and eggs---a meat eater's dream breakfast. Plus, eating in the garden in good weather always cures my hangover.

I have eaten here for dinner a few times, and, while a little pricey (probably due to the local ingredients), always satisfying. "

Awesome Place. Awesome place. Super friendly staff.

I love their grill cheese sandwich, home fries, and the veggie platter.

yummy yummy yummy

We had dinner in their back patio during the summer and it was very romantic.

Good wine, good food and good people = 5 stars!

Fantastic food. **MSLNYC_Simply put, I love having brunch at this place especially during the warm season. In a nutshell, it's a no brainer! Brunch is simply delicious, no matter what you pick as a special... price is fair and friendly waitstaff willing to accomodate you any which way they can to make your dining experience memorable. I could go on and on about this place but what's the point, just go see for yourself.

So worth it. Picket Fence is a hidden gem in Brooklyn. The restaurant is cozy with a welcoming atmosphere and staff. There might be a wait for brunch or even for dinner, but the quality of the food is always worth the wait. I go for brunch (at least once a weekend), but I always have tough decision on whether to pick the challah french toast with fresh fruit or the special omelet. Either way I am never disappointedmy suggestion is to bring a friend, so you can have a taste of both and enjoy the beautifully landscaped garden with a mimosa in hand. Pros: quality of the food and service Cons: there might be a wait, but the taste is worth it

Great choice. This is a great choice for Sunday Brunch. The decor, especially in the backyard, is so laid-back and comfortable. When you sit outside, you really feel like you're at someone's poolside BBQ. They have big sun umbrellas and picnic tables, to boot. The staff wears t-shirts and jeans, shorts even, when the weather calls for it. The $9 unlimited mimosas are a little on the weak side, alcohol-wise, but they are as generous with the refills as your favorite diner is with extra cups of coffee. Besides, the objective at Brunch is not to get sloshed, so no worries, really. I had blueberry-walnut pancakes. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. The blueberries and almond shavings were fresh and mixed right into the pancakes (I was half-expecting diner-style plain pancakes with some fruit and nuts tossed on top, but this is so much yummier)! The bacon and breakfast sausage sides are just as freshly-made, hot and smoky. At some point I'll have to check out the place for lunch or dinner, because the selections and some descriptions from other reviews seem really tempting. The only down side is, it's arguably pricey. On paper, two servings of pancakes with sides and mimosas coming out to $55 seems a little steep, but the quality of the food kinda makes up for it.

No bad meals. I haven't had a bad meal there yet and my dad actually likes to eat there. He NEVER likes restaurants.

I am now a fan!!. I have lived in Ditmas Park for about 7 years and I have walked by this place more times than I can count. Last night, a friend wanted to treat me to dinner but I was really tired and in no mood to hop on a train or a bus so I decided to try this local spot and I am now a fan!!! It started with the popcorn, instead of bread, being brought to the table. Shutter window decor inspired such a homey feeling. I think the food is organic because simply prepared vegetables with just garlic and olive oil was out of this world. I am not a vegetarian so when I go ga-ga for snow peas it is because they are organic and are bursting with natural flavor that they don't need much help. I have absolutely no words for the smoked gouda mac and cheese. The depth of flavor this smoked cheese added - I was in ecstasy. All the food is cooked to perfection. Although the steak came medium when we asked for well done, my dining partner did not mind because it was so moist and delicious and flavorful, that he was fine with it. They do substitutions for a nominal charge and I LOVE that so you can customize the meal to your preferences. I was in the mood for seafood but poached potatoes and creamed spinach did not appeal to me, so I substituted the smoked gouda mac and cheese and snow peas and I enjoyed every part of the meal.

HEAVEN.. I moved to Brooklyn about a year ago and have visited the Picket Fence a handful of times within that year. The interior is nicely decorated and has a cozy feel to it. The service is always good minus the food sometimes taking a while to get out. One Tuesday night, my boyfriend and I went in for dinner and ended up waiting about 45 minutes for our appetizers and well over an hour for our entrees. We didn't mind because we shared a bottle of wine (or two), that was comped because of the long wait, which was a blessing in disguise because of our hectic work schedules we don't get to go on dates too often so it was nice to catch up. The server was very apologetic and polite for the wait which was comforting. I serve and bartend also so I know how it is when food is not leaving the kitchen and there's nothing the server can do about it, so I told her she was doing an excellent job. Once the food came out, I thought it was well worth the wait. I had the skirt steak which was cooked to perfection and very nicely seasoned. My favorite part about this restaurant is BRUNCH. They always have some version of French toast as a special, which was Nutella Stuffed French Toast last time I was there and O.M.G. HEAVEN. And how can you go wrong with $9 unlimited mimosas? If you're not in a hurry to eat and don't mind waiting a bit for food knowing that it'll be worth it, this is the place for you.
