LOVED IT. I use to work by Dumbo area and I was sick of getting sandwiches/soups for lunch. I discovered Toro and decided to give it a try. My meal consists of a soup, an appetizer and an entree all for about 14 dollars (i don't think they offer this anymore, they offer bento boxes for 9 bucks) I had the miso soup, a kani salad and a pan seared tuna... AMAZING! The kani salad was soooooooo good and the seared tuna was literally made to perfection. I've been their a few times for take-out and also to sit-in, both were great. The manager started to talk to me and she offered me a free bottle of Snapple.

I think many people gave this restaurant a poor rating because they hadn't seen the new renovated decor, tried the new menu or experience the great staff. (I didn't find the paella or the tapas on the menu!)

Next Time it will be ok. The service is excellent, the environment is very classy and beautiful, the appetizers were very delicious, main course I had was just OK. I came with three other co-workers and we ordered 3 appetizers... the calamari, the beef satay, and the crab tempura. All of which were very delicious. .

When we reached the main course, this is when I was slightly dissapointed. I ordered the steamed chicken sea bass . For the price I'm paying, I was expecting excellent, but instead i got Good.

Despite my dissapointment, I would definitely try the restaurant again. Maybe I will get lucky the next time.

Delightfull and Notable. My husband and I enjoy dining within walking distance from our home. We found one of our restuarants that we enjoyed was closed for renovations over the winter. I was very disappointed to have seen this. Today was our first day to try it since it had reopen to a new staff and menu. I was very pleased with the change and the food was delightfull. They did a wonderfull full job bringing some of Manhattan's chef's to our area. The decor must be seen and I am sure they will be rated highly. If anyone know's Richard the mayor of Dumbo, thank him for bringing us Toro to Dumbo and Brooklyn Hts.

Great Ambience. I had a nice experience here. But I definitely felt a more Spanish flare than Asian at this restaurant. The only thing Asian I saw on the menu was sake. I ate the gambas al ajillo and the seafood paella which were both good. The sangria was great but very expensive, $50 for a pitcher. However, we did get about 12 small wine glasses out of it. The decor is modern yet cozy. The service was fare, we felt neither rushed nor neglected. All in all, I would eat here again.

Very nice place. It was nice to hang out in brooklyn for a change and discovered this place. We were on line for Pizza but to wait for 2 hours, no one from New York waits two hours for Pizza. My friends and I decided to try this place. It was great. Waited 30 minutes for the food but it was worth it. We shared the meal and I could say we had a wonderfull meal. I had to look this place up. I am surprised at some of the reviews. I guess you have to go in order to make your own opinion. Mine is all positive. I do recommend it to all my friends.

Has promise, needs serious improvement. Why you ask: I went to Toro with a friend because our original plan to go to Grimaldis was spoiled by an hour-and-a-half wait. The atmosphere was what mainly drew us in, as it is located in what appears to be an old bank building with high ceilings and just the right lighting. We also agreed the menu had a variety of dishes to choose from. Though described as "Span-Asian", the only Asian item on the menu is Sake and as far as "Span" goes, there was Paella and two Spanish-style tapas. Oh, and they had Sangria but I would not recommend it. The remainder of the menu consisted of pasta and a variety of meat dishes.

Servers needed. Inquire within: When we entered we were casually greeted by a man leaning against the host stand who then pointed the host as if he couldn't be bothered. We were seated, immediately brought water and bread and then were ignored for about ten minutes. Once our order was taken we did not see our server again until the end of the meal when we found him to ask for our check. This was after we sat for 30 minutes and no one checked on us, though servers/bussers did walk by the table.

Hiring Head Chef, Line cooks: The Calamars Fritado were rubbery. The Eggplant Spinach Lasagna tasted as though it was cooked in old oil. The only redeemable dish we ate was the Fresh Mozzerella Salad, although the mozzarella was smoked, not fresh , and some of the ingredients listed on the menu were not in the salad.

Overall: This restaurant needs a serious makeover in regard to food and service. If you just want to have a simple drink and nice atmosphere, then you are in the right spot.

Great Alternative to Grimaldi's. Nestled under the Brooklyn Bridge on the corner of Dumbo, the place has very friendly service and great tapas. A friend and I enjoyed the outdoor seating last night with a great view of the bridge and the enormous line of tourists waiting to get into Grimald's. We went more for the "span" than the "asian." I'd recommend the chorizo plate and beer to anyone as part of a Bridge excursion.

Worst Service/food ever!. So the other day me and a few friends went to check this place out and our experience could not have been worse. It started when we were ignored for the first 15 minutes that we were there and than we ordered sodas and they were disgusting, how do you mess up soda? The food was God awful. Literally it was disgusting. I think Chef-Boyardee makes a better cooked/prepared tortellini. The meat in the sauce was burnt-literally black and burnt- disgusting. My friend ordered the grilled chicken sandwich- and got literally a tiny piece of grilled chicken on a bun. What! for 7 dollars? I think for 3 you can get a grilled chicken club at McDonalds with bacon, lettuce, tomatoe, and mayo. Our waiter ignored and treated us like we were a bother-and there were only 2 other tables there. About time we got our bill we were frozen and sick. I would not tell anyone to go here-unless you like really terrible food- wait in line for the pizza.

Dine out in Brooklyn!!. Went there for the $21. buck value! I cannot not complain it was good. They no longer serve Sushi only when you book a private party. Too bad:( ,,,I was looking forward to that. Had the salad to start, then I ordered the skirt steak. It was great and they gave us a tour of there 3rd floor. Very nice decor, I have to give this place a 9 out of a perfect 10.
