The Scene – The restaurant packs Brooklynites in so tight that tables must be moved to allow for seating. But no one scrunched into the Havana-styled space seems to care, a testament to the authentic flavors. The negative reviews for this place are misguided at best. The service at Cubana, by my definition of good service, is excellent. Are the waters up your butt all the time? No, because you should be enjoying the atmosphere and your meal. I truly appreciate that, and they are there when you need them to be. The sauce they put on their corn is TO DIE FOR. I go here all the time and am never disappointed by the drinks, the food, or the staff.

While there are no vegetarian main courses there are many delicious side plates that will fill, and make your tummy happy for cheap.
The sauteed, sweet or fried, savory plantains with mango salsa, red or black beans (not cooked with meat), and cocount rice, yucca with garlic, and jicama salad are ALL really AMAZING, topped with a mojito! A bouquet of flavors that dance together! Definately worth it a try! Friendly and fast service. Tables are tight, but cozy.
