Horrid Service - good food.
This seems to be the typical issue with the neighborhood restaurants and bars.....horrid service with good food. Why can't the service set it up a notch?
I ate brunch here on Sunday with my boyfriend and 2 other friends. Our waitress seemed distracted which we are used to but the manager was horrid! We asked him a simple question and he walked away saying he didn't have time for us because he had other clients. We don't care - take care of the business you already have.
I really liked the food, which is a shame because we won't be back.
Great Service. This restaurant is always consistent, especially with the wait staff: efficient, kind & friendly. My food arrives fast and it tastes like my mom made it, and that?s good: two thumbs up, for sure! All in all, great people & good food, and that's yummy!
my new favorite later night drinkin spot. all i have to say is frozen irene!! its like a mojito only yummier and frozen... sipping these in the backyard on a summer night.... perfection. but really they have the best cocktails with real fruit and fresh squeezed juices. and they are open late night for drinking!! as for food- the brie with salad and cranberry is delicious and the WINGS are incredible. Maybe the best restaurant bar in the hood!
fantastic!!.
i love this spot- for brunch, lunch, dinner--especially for cocktails--YUM!!
always a good time, always great music- i love the staff, great service- i always feel welcomed- i love bringing all my guests to this neighborhood favorite. try the brie and berry pancakes- the fruit salad can be a little melon heavy but everything else i have tried is wonderful!
Risky Business. I've eaten at Maggie Brown's twice and had totally different dining experiences each time. The first time I went to eat there the waitress was rude and huffy and the service was horrible. The second time I ate there my group was served quickly and our waiter was polite but a little distracted. The food is good (I've had the mac and cheese and the fried fish club), but I don't know if it's worth the risk.
Inattentive wait staff.
I stopped in for brunch around Memorial Day. They weren't too busy, maybe two tables being occupied. Since I was alone I decided to sit at the bar, it took the bartender about 10 minute to even acknowledge me, she was to busy talking to who I can only assume was the manager counting receipts.
She finally hands me a menu, and proceeds to disappear for about 15 minutes, mind you, I was the only one at the bar. When I finally placed my order she appeared more interested in talking to her co-worker than placing my ordered. which she got wrong.
The wait staff seems so indifferent, like I spoiled their morning by showing up.
BTW the food was good.
great neighborhood spot. I love this place! Mostly, I love it because they have amazing cocktails that are totally reasonably priced. The bar itself is beautiful, its one of my favorite spots for a drink in the neighborhood. The food is also delicious- especially the burger- huge! The staff is very friendly and fun, they always have great music playing. Its a very warm and cozy spot where I always feel welcomed and taken care of- they always have just what i need there.
Love this place!!!. I eat at MaggieBrown whenever I am in Brooklyn, which is pretty regularly. The food is always great -- I've been for brunch (eat the brie and berries pancakes -- OH MY GOD. wow. yum.), lunch (burger!) and dinner -- it's all been good. The fries are amazing, the salads are great, which takes care of two of my dietary mainstays. In all, I've enjoyed every visit here -- decor is super cozy, waitstaff is really nice, drinks are yum -- and I always recommend it to people. Love it!!
FUN AND CRAZY STRONG DRINKS. NICE, COOL PLACE FOR DRINKS AND FOOD. MY FRIEND AND I WENT HERE SATURDAY NIGHT FOR SOME PRE DRINKING AND EATS AND ENDED UP STAYING MUCH LONGER THAN WE EXPECTED. THE DRINKS ARE HELLA GOOD AND SO WAS THE FOOD. THE CALAMARI WE ORDERED WAS NOT SO GREAT BUT OUR WAITRESS WAS COOL ABOUT IT AND SUGGESTED SOME OTHER THINGS THAT WE MIGHT LIKE. TRY THE BRIE DUDE!!!! WE WERE GOOD AND BUZZED WHEN WE LEFT LOLL. THE STAFF IS COOL AND CUTE, WITHOUT THE HIPSTER ATTITUDE WE FIND AT SO MANY OTHER NEIGHBORHOOD PLACES. I WILL GO HERE AGAIN AND ENCOURAGE YOU TO AS WELL.
AVOID THIS LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT.
HORRID. I've lived in NYC for 15 years, and my boyfriend and I don't cook. That adds up to a lot of meals eaten in restaurants. Maggie Brown makes my Top Five List for Worst Dining Experiences Ever. Possibly THE worst service in town. Not only is the staff clueless, they're rude, cold, and they simply do not care. In fact, I would qualify them as singularly despicable. And this was on a slow winter weeknight when there were more employees than customers on hand. So no, they were not busy or overworked.
Food is OK. Better food abounds in Brooklyn. And there's simply no need to endure an awful dining experience for mediocre food when you can get better food PLUS service almost anywhere. When our party of three left, we couldn't fathom how this rock-bottom place is in business.
