Nestled in the heart of the Myrtle Avenue restaurant strip in Fort Greene, this cozy spot decorated with tin paneling, velvet-textured wallpaper and chandeliers is prime stomping ground for romantic hipster rendezvous (with and without baby strollers). A backyard populated with mismatched furniture makes for summer dining under the stars and blissful weekend brunches under big shady umbrellas. Just make sure you're not in a rush--no matter when you go service is notoriously slow and absent minded.
The Food
The slightly elevated Southern soul food options here make Maggie Brown a neighborhood fave, from moist, like-your-grandmother-made-it fried chicken, to biscuits slathered in sweet raspberry butter. That's the trick to having a great meal here: Skip the other, more ambitious menu options (like ho-hum gorgonzola pasta with white truffle oil) and opt instead for the comfort food dishes like spicy chicken wings, melt-in-your-mouth short ribs and, to finish, the towering sundae.

This seems to be the typical issue with the neighborhood restaurants and bars.....horrid service with good food. Why can't the service set it up a notch? I ate brunch here on Sunday with my boyfriend and 2 other friends. Our waitress seemed distracted which we are used to but the manager was horrid! We asked him a simple question and he walked away saying he didn't have time for us because he had other clients. We don't care - take care of the business you already have. I really liked the food, which is a shame because we won't be back.

This restaurant is always consistent, especially with the wait staff: efficient, kind & friendly. My food arrives fast and it tastes like my mom made it, and that?s good: two thumbs up, for sure! All in all, great people & good food, and that's yummy!

all i have to say is frozen irene!! its like a mojito only yummier and frozen... sipping these in the backyard on a summer night.... perfection. but really they have the best cocktails with real fruit and fresh squeezed juices. and they are open late night for drinking!! as for food- the brie with salad and cranberry is delicious and the WINGS are incredible. Maybe the best restaurant bar in the hood!
