One of the city's most formidable Italian-style pizzerias, Fornino serves up an especially faithful version of La Vera Pizza Napoletana, the official designation of Naples. The pie is made thin, cooked hot, and has minimal toppings. These include fresh mozzarella, and, here anyway, some very high-quality artisanal ingredients. But the best is the simple margarita. These pizzas are too good to dilute, and anyway they're not really meant to have toppings.
How did I not know about this place?. Friends told me about this place and I ended up there after happy hour. We ordered three different pizzas, one was better than the other. If you like that thin crust, amazing flavor pizza, then this place is for you. I am still craving a slice and it's been two days. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
Great service, good food!. I've only been to this restaurant once but I was really impresse. The waitress was super nice, she recommended a great wine. The food was very tasty, the ceasar salad is fantastic. And the pizza was creative and very good. Will def try this place again!
PIZZA!!!!!.
Great, delicious and fun!
They really know how to mix and match their ingredients.
Best Pizza!!!
wrong italian williamsburg. if you want good italian food in williamsburg, you have to go to the italian places. Bamontes for one is the absolute best old italian restaurant, been there for ages & still family owned & real italy food. And if you want real good italian pizza, leave bedford ave & go into the italian side of williamsburg & try any of the 10 pizzerias across union ave. don't forget williamsburg used to be real italian, not just trendy bedford ave.
Overrated. Its OK pizza, but I don't see how/why it would stand out so much that it gets to the top of the NYC pizza charts. Its a place to bring your out of town friends to and they will enjoy. Good location. Interesting menu concept. Its pizza though....if you need all this fluff to enjoy a slice or two by all means go here. I am fine with local pizzerias free of yuppies and euro trash thank you very much.
Off night? not so great!.
I think locals rate this place so high. After the review I treked into Brooklyn. First off, the waitress was completely unattentive the 2 times we saw her(odd in a restaurant with 6 tables) and got our order wrong. The plain pizza was soggy and the creative wild mushroom(third generation-Fornini) pizza we had was drenched with truffle oil in the middle( again making it soggy) and nothingon the rest. I love when restaurants think using fancy expensive ingrediants makes the food fine cuisine, even with no idea how to use them.
Anyway, this is the last time I cross the williamsburg.
yum.
thank goodness people are recognizing this place. i started going here when they first opened.
delicious pizza, great price, and they delivery, what more could you want?
Great Pizza!. We went here for lunch a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday, and I was thoroughly impressed with the food. The pesto pizza was excellent, thin-crust pizza with a nice amount of spicy Italian cheese that I'd never heard of before. Conveniently located too, being right on Bedford ave. THe back garden sitting area is very pleasant, where you can see their personal herb garden. I will definetly be going back.
one of the best.
if you like em thin and fancy, you'll like fornino.
my personal favorite is the spinach but i've liked almost everything i've tried.
the tiramisu is pretty good too
delicious!. A lovely restaurant with delicious food and good service. You would never think you were on Bedford Ave, where every place is hyped up for no reason. A very pleasant surprise.
