“the al roker pie is great.”
“decent pizza, and a couple of ok wines.”
“The Beatles are always playing, the staff is always friendly and the food is always amazing.”
“my mouth was watering expecting fresh cheese and a pizza to follow that would have sweet, caramelized onions nestled in with tangy gorgonzola and rosemary (as it says on the menu).”
“They changed the chef , but the owner "chef Michael A" keeps the pizza as good as before, very nice place, they have especials every day with very good prices!”
“lovely restaurant with delicious food and good service.”
“What adds to the place is the attentive service and the fantastic value.”
“the delicious pizza here is great anytime, but great for a quick lunch outside of the office.”
One of the city's most formidable Italian-style pizzerias, Fornino serves up an especially faithful version of La Vera Pizza Napoletana, the official designation of Naples. The pie is made thin, cooked hot, and has minimal toppings. These include fresh mozzarella, and, here anyway, some very high-quality artisanal ingredients. But the best is the simple margarita. These pizzas are too good to dilute, and anyway they're not really meant to have toppings.
I think they try too hard. Pizza was cooked too fast. Chared outer crust and a cold, undercooked inner crust. Besides that it was tastey. I dont think they deserve the 2nd spot. sorry.
again 2 stars for delivery refusal.
same zipcode! one subway stop away! they wont deliver! why don't they just say they don't deliver since they wont go further than 5 blocks. the jig is up
also: their sangria has no booze in it.
Won't Deliver 11 Blocks. Not a big pizza eater but on occasion there is nothing like a little italian pie delivery...I'm also a bit of a food snob and so I was very excited by Fornino's menu and claim of commitment to local farmers and quality ingredients. However the last thing I expected was the restaurant to refuse delivery to an apt which is a 12 minute walk away (am i crazy?). Hopefully someday this will change and I can return join the numerous 4 and 5 star ratings.
vey good pizza!. They changed the chef , but the owner "chef Michael A" keeps the pizza as good as before, very nice place, they have especials every day with very good prices! worth to eat here!
Dont waste your time. The pizzas were alright but the service was horrible. The kitchen looked very dirty and the guy making the pizza was rude to me and my wife. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Try Nicks pizza in forrest hills, queens. Much nicer people ...
Great food, great service, great wine. I have never been disappointed here. The appetizers are fantastic, the pizzas are perfect, and their house wine works well with all their dishes. Great place to eat always.
best pizzas in town. yesterday i went to this place we ate so much oh my god i couldnt stop pizzas are so great!!! i hope to comeback next friday with friends !!! a wonderful selection everything was beautiful and fresh highly recommended
you must like wood burned pizza. I have lived in Williamsburg for years and though I lament how crowded it's become, a restaurant like this one is a welcome addition. I do caution those who are used to "regular" pizza, however. I think pizza baked in a wood-burning oven is a taste you either love or hate. I took my father here when he was in town and he just didn't like it. They did send out a very burned pizza the first time. We sent it back and they were very nice about making a new one, as they should have been. It should have never been sent to our table in the first place. Anyway, I thought it was good, not the best I've ever had, but good, and the service was better than most places in Williamsburg.
greatest piza, fast and easy. Wow I went to Fornino's last night for the first time and had the most amazing pizza ever! Fungi Misti, yum.. cheezy, mushroomey and the perfect amount of truffle oil. My waitress was very helpful explaining the menu to me and she also recommended a spectacular wine that was only$32. This was one of the more expensive bottles, they start at $18. The also just started selling this new gellatti and I was in heaven, I'll come back just for that. I can't wait for the patio to open.
good pizza, bad vibe. decent pizza, and a couple of ok wines. blah atmosphere, and disinterested, though usually adequate service. This is really just a take-out joint. The "restaurant" part is a mere afterthought, and on that level, it shows a degree of contempt for the customer that is irritating.
