“Subway is 20 minutes to Manhattan Chinatown where we would eat a great dinner for two for $10-12.”
Great B&B. For New York City area this was spacious and luxurious, no views but blocks and blocks of restored Victorians. Subway is 20 minutes to Manhattan Chinatown where we would eat a great dinner for two for $10-12. Brooklyn Museum and Propsect park just a mile up a street filled with Indian, Pakistsani and Middle Eastern restaurants. (MTA 7 day pass is $24)We stayed here a week-very clean, comfortable. We read a bad review of this place after shopping around but then we telephoned the owners - their attitude on did not match the bad review, so we gambled on this place, and we won. If you know what places run in New York, and you know what a bed and breakfast is, you will be very happy with this place, unless you yourself have a problem.
Another opinion. We stayed there over Christmas and found it an excellent place to stay. Helpful hosts, good breakfasts, comfortable accomodations. Helpful with getting taxis, etc. We recommend.
Best place to stay.
We have visited Bibisgarden as well, and disagree with the recent review posted.
They are wonderful people, with a very clean place, and the price is right. They have nice fresh breakfast every morning. We called Bibisgarden and they responded immediately, regardles where you are. I think these people who wrote this last review must have done something to the hostesses. We had also two other couples there from the Netherlands and Germany, and they also thought higly of their hostesses Bibi and Harry.
Stay away -- obnoxious host!. In short, the landlady was hostile and the accomodations not worth it. They tried to up the price quote when we got there, charged $5 for supervised, restricted internet access, blocked the TVs with parental controls, complained when we USED THE ELECTRICITY for things like lamps and a fan in the room and basically griped at us for several days in a row. Essentially, we were treated like children, which none of us are, and rebuked for breaking irrational rules we did not know existed. AWFUL experience, do not go here if you have any other option.
