“Since Lauterbach's closed about 12 years ago, the Slope hasn't had a good place for real rock n' roll people (though intimidating the hipster trash at Buttmilk can be fun).”
“The atmosphere is by far the best aspect of Lucky13Saloon but the cheap beers and the fact that they have the most amazing mix of metal,punk,goth/industrial in there jukebox.”
“She even invented a vegan white russian that is absolutely delicious!”
“The jukebox alone deserves its own shrine for having the best selections of metal, punk, and rock.”

Dark, awesome place. Seriously, I love the Lucky 13 Saloon. I wish it wasn't so far from my home, as I would be there far more often. Cool people, great vibe, and they have a FREE burlesque show on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month from Miss Mary Cyn and Joe the Shark!
Could use a personality boost. Totally excited to check it out. Boyfriend was at work and I had no where else to be. So I ventured to 13th street only to be "greeted" by a short tired looking bartender. I understand it's a metal bar and sincere hospitality is not the scene, but hell. Show some excitement when someone new enters your establishment. I felt like I was imposing on the their festivities, so I quickly finished my one drink and split. Perhaps I went on a bad night, but it still gives no excuse. I've partied at many true metal bars in New Orleans. This place blows.
nice looks, different inside. place looks nice for a metal maniac like myself, good jukebox. good posters on the walls. what destroyed the whole experience for me when I was there was that they were showing abuse mangas the whole night through. If this is the way the staff wants to show how "different" they are, well, have fun. I don't get it how abusing and violating women even in the manga format should be "cool". There are enough other places where the play good metal music. won't come back
For a good time.... go here!. Lucky 13 is a nice touch to this area. If your sick of all the scenester bars with people thinking they are too cool to talk to you... Then make the trip to Lucky 13. I've been in there a few times. And being new to the city I knew no one. Within the first 10 minutes of being in there one of the owners had introduced me to everyone! Not what you'd expect from a 'metal' bar. The other owner, Melody, is an awsome bartender. She even invented a vegan white russian that is absolutely delicious! She also made me feel totally at home here. And all the other patrons give this bar a total family feeling. Well, if your family was covered in tattoos. Even if your not from this area... it's totally worth it. Make the trip!
Good Beer and even better people!. This bar is amazing. The jukebox alone deserves its own shrine for having the best selections of metal, punk, and rock. All of the bartenders kick a$$. The mix of people is always fun and changes according to the time of day and the day of the week. Scaryoake every other Thursday is mind-blowingly fun. Original Cyn Burlesque on Mondays is always a great show. What else, the horror movies run the gamut from being actually scary to ridiculously bad and hilarious (what more could you want in a selection of horror films). All in all this is the best place in Brooklyn.
most awesome metal bar in the world!. Real metal, real people, this place rocks. Always a good time & the jukebox kicks butt, even when they have DJs it's awesome. and you can't beat $1 beers til 9 PM!!
A Heavy Metal Cathedral....filled with booze!. Quite simply put, this is the most METAL place in Brooklyn! You can feel the metal surging through your veins as soon as you walk through the door. Loud, thundering riffs pierce your ears as you chug down some ice cold suds. I've been dreaming of a watering hole with the hardcore style of Lucky 13 for years, and finally it appeared out from the shadows. Well enough of this....I'm goin down for a cold one and some Slayer....hope to see ya there...
Best in the world.
This place rocks! Hottest bartenders in the world. Great music, great scene.
Thank you Melody and Jeff!!
Finally!. Since Lauterbach's closed about 12 years ago, the Slope hasn't had a good place for real rock n' roll people (though intimidating the hipster trash at Buttmilk can be fun). Now there's an unpretentious, friendly place with a great jukebox stumbling distance from my house - I love this place!
