“Nice front staff, Great Vets”
“This clinic was less expensive than the clinic where I took my dog in Kansas.”
“The receptionists were very helpful and did their best to squeeze me in even though I called last minute and was late for my appointment.”
Dr Klein is Brooklyn's Best Veterinarian. Everyone at this office is so incredibly knowledgeable, professional, loving and kind; especially Dr. Klein. I feel so blessed to have them caring for my Bulldog, Martha. The staff at Hope has helped keep Martha healthy for 3 and 1/2 years. The whole team at Hope demonstrates so much love and affection that Martha actually loves her visits to the vet now. Dr. Klein is extremely patient and kind. It was obvious when observing him for the first time that he truly loves animals and takes pride in his profession. It is the only veterinary office I would take my pets. Everyone here really understands my dog's personality and they treat her with amazing love.
Hope Vet improved the quality of my pets' lives.
Hope Vet are one of the best things in Brooklyn, ever. They accommodate, they are thorough and they DO NOT do unnecessary tests etc if your pet doesn't need them.
My experience is that they don't just throw drugs at a problem. Once your pet is back on its feet, as it were, they help you untangle how you can PREVENT this from happening again whether it's not preparing well enough to be away and leaving an inadequate pet sitter or whether it's changes in diet to prevent your animal being blocked again etc.
Dr Kristine Young is wonderful and I look forward to seeing her even though I sometimes do when I'd rather not ie a problem. In fact I like all the doctors I've met there and you get the impression they would be great people to know outside the clinic.
The technicians are gentle and caring and knowledgeable.
Anyone who takes time to explain why a certain drug is being given, HOW you administer it (tried pilling a cat anyone?) and what to do is A or B happens, they get my vote.
They make you feel that you are not alone with problems, and I appreciate that and when you have to put your pet asleep, there is no better place to help you do it kindly and unhurriedly.
They do not euthanise on demand for convenience, do not declaw, and do not practice other hideous procedures set up for human convenience. They help you deal with problems other than just medical.
I heart them and would recommend them to everyone; they remember your pets and your name, and it's a nice family environment with rescued cats and kittens up for adoption....what's not to love?
LOVE!! Hope Vet is truly amazing.. LOVE!! I have been taking my cats and dogs to Hope Vet since it opened 9+ years ago. My animal family has grown considerably over the years, so I have been at Hope for many, many visits. Every single time has been a pleasant experience. I am especially fond of Dr. Young and Dr. Asantewaa, both of whom are gentle with my animals, and kind and patient with us humans. When one of my cats was at the end of his life and so ill and in pain that he needed to be put to sleep, Dr. Faigle did the procedure and was so loving and compassionate while I cried my eyes out as I laid on the floor next to my cat. I highly recommend Hope Vet, and I tell all my friends to go there. It's a special place where every single staff member is passionate about animal well-being, and extremely nice to the pet parents as well. Make Hope Vet your vet
Extremely disappointing. I have used this practice in the past. I informed the vet tech that I had given my cat a valium to keep her calm and the tech walked away from the table, allowing my cat to fall off. After that two techs held my cat down to take her blood. It took over 20mins and my cat was creaming so loudly other staff cam into the room to check what was happening. After this horrible experience I called the clinic to ask if I could buy a over the counter supplement for my dog and they refused to sell it to me w/out their doctor examining my dog. I explained my dog had been seen by another vet only a day prior and that my vet would be happy to speak w/ them. They still refused to sell me this supplement that did not even require a script. Major crooks over there! They only wanted to make a profit on a redundant exam!!!
Used to be a good Place....:-(.
I think this practice grew beyond it's limits and is servicing too many clients. I used to go to Hope Vet and Dr Young was so caring and helpful. The wait was a little long like a half hour, but I knew I was going to get good care and attention for my pets. Kelly is gruff but that's a real New Yorker - just be nice to her and her icy layer melts instantly.
The problem here is now is the whole experience deteriorated. The wait is up to an hour which is an awful experience for a cat, the staff seem overwhelmed causing mistakes, and Kelly looks like she is going rabid. Dr Young is still great but you can't go to a vet and ignore the bad support and experience. Go with caution.
uncompassionate & unprofessional.
Hope Vet is not about the pets. They are all about the money.
And Kelly that works there is very very NASTY.
Compassionate and professional.
I'm very surprised that many people have apparently have bad experiences with Hope Vet - we've had only great experiences (except with one vet who's no longer there), including one phenomenal one that I'll explain at the end of my review.
We've found the front desk staff to be friendly and professional. We always make appts with Dr. Young, who is a co-owner of the vet. She's great, patient, and answers all our questions in detail. On multiple occasions she's followed up one our appointment herself by personally calling us to let us know how a blood test turned out.
Now for our phenomenal experience: a week before we were set to go on our honeymoon, our pitbull/boxer mix had to have a mass cell tumor removed. It was a huge, 7-8 inch incision. While recuperating at my parents' house in NJ while we were out of the country, his wound began to leak puss. My parents brought him in to Brooklyn to Hope. They drained the wound, but wanted my parents to bring him back the next morning for further review, which my parents could just not do. So not only did Hope let our dog stay there overnight (which they normally don't do) Hope also had someone stay with our dog waaaaaay past closing time so he wouldn't be alone. Without charge.
Terrible. Its taken me a while to write this review, but the distaste I feel for this place will not subside. I can't understand why the vets let the front desk act as they do; they are so rude and heartless to the humans involved in the process. Veterinary care is adequate, though they won't admit that they don't know everything and refer to a specialist. I will NEVER go back to this place. I understand there is a new vet practice closeby that was started by two of the former Hope vets; hopefully Hope will wake up now.
Terrible Place. This is just an awful place. From the minute you walk in the door, you have to deal with a rude, disorganized front desk. The vets are adequate, but holistic... I think not. The vet follow-thru is terrible. The technicians can't seem to get the information I need straight. I can't think of one positive thing to say about this place. There's no compassion here -- hello, we're acting on behalf of beings that we love!!! Save yourself some heartache, and go elsewhere.
Awful!. I waited 90 minutes for an appointment earlier this week; simple routine office visit. I had to ask the JERK at the desk 5 times what the holdup was, and she was extremely rude to me. Finally saw a vet who seemed adequate, but I called with a follow-up question and have yet to hear back, 4 days later. Oh, and they charged BIG TIME for this great treatment.
