“not much for atmosphere but good cheap food.”
“Skip the appetizers which look and taste like fast food, but the vegetarian duck is excellent, so are most of the entrees, and the pumpkin coconut dessert looks weird but tastes amazing!”
“What they lack in decor they make up in wonderful, spicy, authentic Thai dishes.”
“nice quiet place for good Thai food.”
“The basil stir fry was delicious and very filling, with the service sparse and a bit off putting.”
“Great good and a great price.”
Thai Sky in Park Slope is AMAZING!!!. The quality of the food was excellent. Thai Sky uses very fresh ingredients from the herbs and spices to the fresh meats and fish. Beautiful food presentation and the service is excellent. I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking for their Thai/fusion fix! I'm definitely going to be a repeat customer!
Good Food, Great Service, Outstanding Price.
Me and my husband recently had dinner here and were satisfied with all aspects of our meal.
We ordered the appetizer sampler, and advised the waitress that my husband is allergic to shell fish. When she brought out the tray she had arranged all the shell fish appetizers on a different plate and had added a different garnish. I had the duck pad thai which is a signature dish for them, and my oh my! I'm not a duck fan and I sooooo became one after this dish. The portion is super generous (although it comes very compacted in a small bowl) my husband had a beef dish and was equally satisfied.
I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant and loved the service. Can't wait to go back and try the curries.
Missing the..... Thai food has always been one of my fast favorites. I liked the feel of he restaurant and the service was good. I ordered the green curry as I usually do my first time at a Thai joint. It wasn't bad but I missed the usual medley of vegetables I get. Not only that the sauce was a little on the thin side and the rice portion was small. One thing I did like was the the heated curry bowl which prevented the sauce from getting cold which happens almost every time I order curry. Good look on that! I also had the spring rolls which were good. I did notice that there take out was movin, people were comin in one after another for pick up, so mabye they have other dishes that are public favs, I don't know. Over all not bad but I've had better.
good Thai, good price!.
I've tried many other Thai places, and I recommend this place.
The lunch set is really good value and very tasty like the meals I tasted in Thailand.
Worth trying!
phenomenal authentic thai cuisine!!!. Love this place!! Clean environment, excellent service and delicious food make it the best place in Brooklyn to eat. Romantic ambiance as well. I love the heavens beef, crispy spring roll. curry puff appetizers. Th galangal coconut soup is delicious. I love the thai iced tea also. Curry dishes run from mild to spicy depending on how you like it. This is my favorite restaurant in New York!!!!!!
good cheap thai. Skip the appetizers which look and taste like fast food, but the vegetarian duck is excellent, so are most of the entrees, and the pumpkin coconut dessert looks weird but tastes amazing! not much for atmosphere but good cheap food.
cheap and filling lunch. Just had a great lunch here - ordered the basil tofu lunch with the friend tofu that had a delicious sweet sauce with crushed peanuts. I was looking to have all of the hype fufilled and found exactly what I Expected. The basil stir fry was delicious and very filling, with the service sparse and a bit off putting. We didn't see the solitary waitress after seating ourself for over 10 minutes. the food was pretty hot but not fresh from the kitchen. All these complaints and you still love it? yep. it was delicious and 6 dollars!!!
Good neighborhood eats. I like Thai Sky, and the lady who runs it is very sweet. Quick note: they do take credit cards now. The food is spicy like it should be & not swimming in oil like it is at song down the street. Not a destination spot as far as ambience goes, but if you're in the neighborhood and want a good, quiet meal it's worth a trip.
The sky is limited. My girlfriend and I are Thai aficionados and are constantly in search of delicious thai food at reasonable prices. Gently put, Thai Sky aint it. Although the service was good and the presentation was appetizing, the food itself was drastically subpar. Evidenced by the overused chili pepper heat, no doubt intended to drown out the confused medley of rank cuisine they provide. Odd, traditional and clashing decor will only detract from your experience if the square box layout or perma-draft through the pane glass door doesn't get you first. Go to Pat Pong in the East Village, Mango Thai on 7th Avenue Brooklyn or Lemongrass in the West Village for affordable thai food done right - anywhere but Thai Sky! And for God sakes lower this rating ... 8.7?, give us a break.
Best curry puffs. Whenever I go to Thai Sky, I get the curry puffs. They're just yummy. Also, love the stuffed chicken wings. For a main course I get the creamy and lightly spicey shrimp and scallops in red curry sauce. The red snapper with a sweet and tangy mango salad topping is out of this world. The staff is always freindly and helpful whenever I've been there.
