“haven't been to this bar in a while as I no longer live in the area, but I used to go all the time because the staff are friendly and cool and the free pizzas?”

Despite the bro-y downfall of this once-pleasant, dark, divey neighborhood bar, you can still get your Saturday afternoon kicks on playing Big Buck Hunter in relative peace at this bar, pint and pizza in hand.
Free Comedy show & Pizza on Tuesday nights. Pretty much has everything you would want in a local bar. (Pool table, juke box, good people). The 2 unique things about this place are: A FREE COMEDY SHOW & FREE PIZZA on Tuesday nights. The comedy show is in the back room & starts about 9:30. Not all the comedians were great, but what we got for FREE, was quite entertaining & fun. Some of the ethnic comedians were unique & very funny. I'd like to go back to see the Free comedy show again. It's a night better than staying home & watching TV. After the show we had more fun meeting other people and even talked to a few of the comedians on the show. The great thing about it was NO Cover Charge & No drink minimum enforced like they do in the comedy clubs. The Free Pizza was ok also. It's not the best pizza, but again, it's free.
It's not a "croc"--the pizza really is on the house at this island-themed neighborhood bar.. Pink flamingoes and swimsuit-clad mannequins jut from the walls at this pizzeria-cabana club-sports bar. Free food is the great equalizer for a friendly mixed crew of artists in paint-stained overalls, local ladies shrink-wrapped in tube tops and tight jeans, and neighborhood dads in baseball jackets. Though the pies are free, the toppings will cost you ($2 for the first, $1 for each additional). Groups crowd into booths and wash down slices with well-priced pitchers of Guinness and Stella or get more beer for their buck with pitchers of Rheingold. Regulars shoot pool and watch sports at the bar, and an easygoing rock jukebox--spanning from Steely Dan to the Shins--aids the digestive process.
Eh.... but there is free pizza!. A kitschy little spot that can be amusing, but usually somewhat unappealing... good meet-up spot, but shouldn't be the final destination. Big draw is the tasty free pizzas that come with each drink (when you ask)... plus, they're cooked right in front of you in a brick oven.
A is for Attitude, not Alligator.
Despite the fact that this joint is co-owned or owned by the same folks as Capone's , Metropolitan and who knows what else- they are just not plugged into the neighborhood vibe. And no, I'm not talking about androgynous indie rockers, I'm talking about the folks who actually work for a living and know how to tip well, myself included.
The few times I've been here the service was so poor and the staff so unfriendly, I was compelled to write this review. I will take my money and my friends elsewhere, thank you.
Fun Hangout.. The Alligator Lounge is one of my new favorite hangouts. It's a great after-work bar to visit alone or with friends. The decor isn't great, but the beer is reasonably priced (approx 3.50) and (as you know by now) comes with a free personal pizza. The pizza is good, esspecially if you've already hit a couple of bars. They also have cozy booths and a pool table. All in all this is a great place to go with friends for a cheap night out.
laid back. this is an undiscovered gem of a bar. great drink specials and hot brick oven pizza in a clean, brandie new space--a converted pizza joint. there are 2 different jukeboxes-- one in the main bar and another (with a completely different discography) in the backroom, which is like an indoor patio. there are 2 dart boards and a pool table, as well as several video games. the crowd is low-key and the backroom offers a large space for a semi-private party or to just hang out.
