Do Not Ever "Eat" Here. It is hard to judge the food when it never comes. Our party of four had a reservation and were seated on time, ordered food immediately and ordered a bottle of wine. An hour later we finally decided to ask where our food was and it was very clear the order had never been entered. The waitress said there was a "snag" with our order. There are literally FOUR ENTREES on the menu and ten other people there, what could go wrong? We had to leave to catch a movie, there was a half assed apology and no offer to comp any of our several rounds of drinks.

We finally left with NO DINNER. Ruined evening, rude, inept people.

Bad attitude and no food, sound like a good night? Not for me.

So Cute.. I love this place. It's very relaxed and yet very romantic. The staff is well educated and helpful especially our server Dave. My boyfriend and I will be back for sure.

Great service, savory food, cozy atmosphere. My boyfriend and I have been to Stonehome about six times in the last two years, and literally have yet to be disappointed. The service has been great in the respect of friendliness, hospitality, and humility - a little slow in getting food to the table, but we've experienced that only when the place was really busy. But having said that, the food is quite worth the wait. The selection of food choices is also great. The place is just not pretentious at all. It's just a great place to hang. We're looking forward to the Spring and Summer to be able to sit out in their backyard space!

Super-good food, excellent wine list, knowledgable staff. I read about Stonehome Wine Bar in the New Yorker, so I went with my boyfriend and a few friends on a Monday night. The room has so much character, the bar itself is BEAUTIFUL and the food and wine lives up to it 100%! Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the fish, and the venison, which you oculd have eaten with a spoon. Our server was super knowledgable and friendly. She made fantastic recommendations. Even later, the guy who brought our food out was able to identify on the spot what we were drinking when we wanted another glass, but we had forgotten the name of it! The atmosphere was so chill, and I would definitely recommend it as a great place for a date or just to get together with friends. I can't wait to go back!

Food Excellent, Wine List Uninspired. The food at Stonehome is the most well executed in Brooklyn. Thats where it starts and ends. It seems as if everything else at Stonehome is a bit disconnected. Servers don't know the most basic ingredients in the dishes, and most wine recommendations seem to be off the mark. The wine by the glass is where the list shines. Don't bother reading the full list because it lacks focus throughout. Italy is a mess and regions such as Bordeaux and Spain are left in the dust. I recommend the place, but it could be better

Excellent wine bar but service generally is poor. The food is delicious, especially the cheese and meat plates. And the wines, though pricey, are excellent. If you know your stuff, there are some great finds on the wine list for a very reasonable price. My biggest issue with this place is that the service is terrible. I've seen the staff drunk. I've seen them ignoring patrons (me and my boyfriend) so that they could flirt with girls. When they do attend to us (after we've tried to flag them down to no avail till one of their colleagues gives them the heads up), they act super annoyed and very unfriendly, as if we were unwelcome guests in their home. I don't expect servers/waiters/bartenders to be my best friend when I go out, but you know what? Take a page, or rather the whole book, out of Danny Meyer's writings on service. Yes, you guys are pretty much the only really good wine bar in the hood AND with delicious food, but you should follow it up with excellent service. Whenever I go there, I leave feeling like terrible because of the way I've been treated. Yes, its crowded, blah blah blah, but your staff really need to know how to handle patrons properly. My boyfriend doesn't even want to go back there anymore because of how awful we've been treated, but I insist because I love your wine selection and small plates.

Your staff is young, and that's fine. I'm used to being ignored in Brooklyn because young hip servers are hanging out with their friends or drinking on the job. But you place doesn't seem to match this type of service. I can tell they are doing their best with the crowds, but I challenge you to send some of your friends there on any given night and let them tell you how they were treated. Watch out for the kind of big blonde guy. He's been pretty jerk-y on several occasions. Please make it better so I don't have to keep on forcing my boyfriend there! And subjecting myself to your tortuous service. You've got a good thing going. Keep it up! <3

A home away from home for Fort Greene's wine enthusiasts.. The Scene
A classy neighborhood crowd lingers along the free-form curves of a long and shapely cherry-wood bar. Slow-grooving hip-hop and mellow Latin beats play in the background. Colorful faux suede banquettes provide space for quiet conversations, and abstract paintings bedeck the brick-exposed walls. Smokers head for the umbrella tables on the backyard patio.

The Food
The menu includes small plates, such as the light fennel and apple slaw or the spinach and cheese ravioli, plus a full dinner menu, but the real attraction (besides the wine) is the cheese. Sample a few selections, like the creamy Italian robiola or the nutty manchego from Spain. The friendly servers know their wine and help patrons whittle down the extensive wine list to find the perfectly matched glass, bottle or carafe. Staff favorites include the fruity Rutz Cellars pinot noir and the inexpensive and earthy Saint Anastasia Nero D'Avola.

Excellent wine bar. Not only does this place have an excellent wine list and a knowledgable staff, the food is excellent. If I am having a drink with a friend and actually want to hear what they are saying I will always choose this place. Stonehome can be expensive because the wines are high quality, but they also offer less expensive choices which I appreciate. It gets crowded now on the weekend, but that's what happens when you're good.

Great selection of wines. Stonehome is a great space and a chill environment. The outdoor garden is a huge plus and the food is tasty. I've been many times, and my only complaint is the bar service. I usually try to avoid sitting at the bar and opt for table service on Thursdays and Fridays because of the cold and inattentive service I've gotten on those nights. I would definitely recommend this place, but try to go earlier in the week to avoid being ignored.

very unpretentious and extreme levels of deliciousness and TLC in anything on the menu. this place is great. very romantic with a beautiful garden that will have you thinking you are in paris or something... the food is amazing and you can tell that every dish is prepared with love and attention. I'm not exactly a wine bar kindof person but this place really makes it easy to choose a wine and the wait staff is so knowledgable that you never feel dumb asking abouteh wine or anything else for that matter. Try the win and cheese samplers if you get a chance...
