“All of my guests raved about what a great bar it is and how much fun they had.”
“best bar on brooklyn”
“the music is good, there's room to dance (but not too much room), the drinks are delicious, and the vibe is a far cry from the too-cool-for-school vibes found elsewhere in williamsburg.”
“great place!”
“great space/lousy service”
Will never go to again! Do not go!.
I went with my girlfriend and a few of her friends last weekend because I had heard great things about the bar but had never been there before.
I sat there and listened to the bartender insult the girls as they were dancing to the songs that he was playing on an ipod behind the bar. The other bartender (or barback) was laughing and telling him things to say to further insult the girls. It made the experience quite unpleasant and we ended up leaving early.
best bar on brooklyn. This bar is baaaaadasss. The whole experience was great. The music is great, smoking area kicks ass, and the vibe was super mellow. The bartnders were so nice and make a great drink. Check this place out.
Great space ruined by bartenders. Larry Lawrence is unusual in that everything is cool about the place except for the bartenders/ staff. The space is ambient and the drinks are reasonable, and for some reason the bartenders are overly rude to the patrons. I've never experienced this to such an extent before and unfortunately really takes away from the experience of being there.
beautiful.
this is the most beautiful bar in brooklyn.
had a great time last weekend, the crowd was mellow, a hidden gem.
good freaking fun.
contrary to the previous review, i'd argue that the bartenders are not only easy on the eyes, they're insanely cool. (okay, one of them has a bit of an attitude, but it goes w/the territory, doesn't it?)
the music is good, there's room to dance (but not too much room), the drinks are delicious, and the vibe is a far cry from the too-cool-for-school vibes found elsewhere in williamsburg.
great space/lousy service.
This is a cool spot, an open space with a speakeasy-style feel at the end of a narrow corridor. Great smoking area. Drinks are moderately priced and generallygood.
However, the bartenders are extremely rude, to the extent that it really detracts from the experience
Do it!. A great find! Hidden away in the belly of Williamsburg on Grand street this bar is unlike others. Behind a long concrete entryway opens up an atrium which becomes the main part of the bar. Well designed interior and a staircase leading to an open air balcony make this a perfect place to hang out! One you go in you will be awed by the decor or placement of everything. Plus it's 2 blocks away from my apartment! No joke! That's hot!
